Usage Cautions

⚠️ Danger of Electrocution: Before any installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected to avoid any risk of electrocution. Cut the power supply directly from the breaker box. This relay switch is designed for powered operation; incorrect installation can lead to fire or electric shock. If you are not confident with electrical installations, consult a professional.

The relay switch must be installed and connected carefully following the instructions in this guide. Nodon SAS is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from non-compliance with the installation instructions.

Always disconnect the power supply before any operation and do not make modifications if the LED is still illuminated.

ℹ️ General Use: Never use the device if it is not correctly installed and placed inside a connecting box conforming to current standards. Keep the product away from liquids. This product is intended for indoor use only.

Installation

Thanks to its compact size, the Roller Shutter Relay Switch can be installed in a connecting box or behind the wall switch that controls the roller shutter or motorized awning.

? Tip: Hutschienenmontage (DIN Rail Mounting)

Mount the Roller Shutter Relay Switch in an electrical panel using the Nodon DIN Rail Box* (optional accessory).

Inputs/Outputs of the Module

Each terminal accepts cable with a cross-section from 1.5mm² to 4mm² (0.06 to 0.16 sq in), stripped to approximately 8mm (0.31 in).

Wiring Diagram (Figure 1)

Steps:

  1. Turn off the power supply.
  2. Disassemble the wired wall switch controlling the roller shutter/awning you wish to connect.
  3. Wire the module according to the diagram below:
    • Connect the Live wire (L) to the 'L' terminal of the module.
    • Connect the Neutral wire (N) to the 'N' terminal of the module.
    • Connect the 'Up' wire from the motor to the 'M ▲' terminal.
    • Connect the 'Down' wire from the motor to the 'M ▼' terminal.
    • If using a wired switch: Connect the 'Up' switch wire to the '▲' terminal. Connect the 'Down' switch wire to the '▼' terminal.
  4. Reassemble the wired wall switch.
  5. Turn the power supply back on.

[Description of Wiring Diagram Figure 1: Shows connections for Live (L), Neutral (N), wired switch inputs (▲, ▼), and motor outputs (M ▲, M ▼) to the Roller Shutter Relay Switch module.]

Auto-Detection of Switch Type

After restoring power, briefly press the wired switch connected to the module. The roller shutter should move to half-height. The module automatically detects the type of wired switch connected (rocker or push-button). This configuration applies to both inputs (▲ and ▼). A rocker switch cannot be combined with a push-button on the same module.

To restart the auto-detection, the module must be manually reset (refer to the Reset Procedure section).

Calibration of the Roller Shutter Relay Switch

The module must be connected to power. Calibration can be initiated in two ways:

Mode 1: From the Relay Switch Module

  1. Perform 5 short presses on the module's button.
  2. The module's LED will blink green, indicating calibration has started.

Mode 2: From the Wired Wall Switch

  1. Ensure the roller shutter/awning is in the fully open (up) position.
  2. Perform the "Up - Stop" sequence three times using the wired wall switch.

During Calibration (after initiation):

Confirmation:

If the module's LED blinks orange during the pairing procedure, it indicates that more than 22 controllers are already paired. You must remove an existing controller to add a new one.

To Cancel Calibration:

[Description of Calibration Diagram: Shows button presses (x5 short presses on module, or 3x Up-Stop sequence on switch) and LED feedback (blinking green). Also shows pairing window with 30 seconds for remote/wall switch or Soft Button, and confirmation steps.]

Pairing with Controllers

To add a remote control, wall switch, or Soft Button (EnOcean compatible), you must enter pairing mode. Ensure your light is switched OFF before starting. The Relay Switch must be powered.

Mode 1: From the Relay Switch Module

  1. Launch pairing mode by performing 3 consecutive short presses on the module's button. The LED will blink red.
  2. You then have 30 seconds to pair your controller:
    • For Remote or Wall Switch: Briefly press any button on your chosen controller (less than one second). This will control the upward movement of your roller shutter/awning.
    • For Soft Button: Perform 5 brief consecutive presses on the Soft Button.
  3. The module's LED will blink twice green, confirming successful pairing.

Mode 2: From the Wired Wall Switch

  1. Place the roller shutter/awning in the fully closed (down) position.
  2. Perform the "Down - Stop" sequence three times using the wired wall switch.
  3. The roller shutter/awning will then move up by 10% to confirm the pairing.

[Description of Pairing Diagram: Shows button presses (x3 short presses on module, or 3x Down-Stop sequence on switch) and LED feedback (blinking red then green). Also shows pairing window with 30 seconds for remote/wall switch or Soft Button, and confirmation steps.]

If the module's LED blinks orange during the pairing procedure, it indicates that more than 22 controllers are already paired. You must remove an existing controller to add a new one.

Use of the Soft Button

The Soft Button provides control over the roller shutter/awning with different press types:

Type of PressAction
Single pressReversal (e.g., if open, close; if closed, open)
Double pressOpen (fully open)
Long pressClosed (fully close)

Pairing with a Home Automation Gateway

For detailed instructions on pairing with a home automation gateway or other compatible products, please consult the "Support" section on nodon.fr/en/support/.

Unpairing Procedure

To unpair a controller, follow the same procedure as pairing (see "Pairing with Controllers"). When prompted to press a button, press the specific button on the controller you wish to remove. This will disconnect it from your gate/garage door/electric latch or your electrical outlet.

Reset Procedure

The module must be connected to power.

  1. Press and hold the module's button for more than 5 seconds. The LED will blink orange.
  2. Press the button again briefly to confirm the reset.
  3. If the reset is successful, the LED will blink alternately red and green, then remain green. Repeat the process if necessary.

Your module will now be restored to its original factory settings.

[Description of Reset Diagram: Shows holding the button for >5 seconds, LED blinking orange, then a short press to confirm, followed by alternating red/green LED.]
