Installation
Thanks to its compact size, the Zigbee Multifunction Relay Switch with Metering can be installed in a junction box, behind a wall switch, an electrical outlet, or a cable outlet. Each terminal must be connected using a cable section between 1.5mm² and 4mm², stripped to 8mm.
DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION: Before any installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected to avoid any risk of electrocution. Cut power directly from the electrical panel. If you are not comfortable with electrical installations, consult a professional. The module must be installed and connected strictly following these instructions. NodOn is not responsible for accidents or damages due to non-compliance with assembly instructions. Cut power before any intervention and do not make modifications if the LED is on.
Installation Types
1. Electrical Outlet Metering
This setup allows for energy metering of devices plugged into an electrical outlet.
Procedure:
- Cut the power supply.
- Disassemble the electrical outlet and the wall switch.
- Wire the Zigbee Multifunction Relay Switch with metering according to Figure 1 (diagram shows module wired between power source and outlet, with input for wired switch).
- Reassemble the electrical outlet and wall switch.
- Restore power.
2. Boiler (Held Dry Contact without Metering)
This configuration is for controlling a boiler, typically using a dry contact maintained signal.
Procedure:
- Cut the power supply.
- Disassemble the cable outlet.
- Wire the Zigbee Multifunction Relay Switch with metering according to Figure 2 (diagram shows module wired to power and boiler control wires, connecting thermostat wires).
- Reassemble the cable outlet.
- Restore power.
3. Gate / Garage Door / Electric Latch (Impulse Mode without Metering)
This setup is for controlling gates, garage doors, or electric latches using an impulse mode.
Important: It is imperative to activate the impulse mode before pairing the module to your home automation gateway to control your gate/garage door/electric latch, to avoid damaging your equipment.
Impulse Mode Activation:
- Ensure the module is powered.
- Perform 5 consecutive quick presses on the module's button. The LED will blink green, confirming activation of the control access mode.
- You can now proceed with pairing.
Procedure:
- Cut the power supply.
- Disassemble the push-button that controls the gate/garage door/electric latch.
- Wire the Zigbee Multifunction Relay Switch with metering in parallel to the push-button, following Figure 3 (diagram shows module wired in parallel with the existing push-button).
- Reassemble the push-button.
- Restore power.
Auto-Detection of Switch Type
After the module is installed and powered on, a single press on the wired switch will initiate an automatic detection of the switch type (monostable or bistable).
Shunt Usage
A shunt is included and can be attached to the indicated terminal blocks. Its use is optional and depends on the specific application.
Adding to a Zigbee Network
Upon power-up, the module's LED will blink orange, indicating it is searching for a Zigbee network.
To add the module:
- Navigate to your Zigbee gateway's application.
- Activate the module detection feature within the app.
- If the module successfully joins the network, the LED will turn green, signifying it is ready for use.
If the module does not join a network within 15 minutes, the LED will remain orange. In this case, perform a brief press on the module's button and restart the pairing procedure.
Compatible home automation gateways can be found on nodon.fr/en/support/.
Reset Procedure
To reset the module to its factory default settings:
- Ensure the module is powered.
- Press and hold the module's button for more than 5 seconds; the LED will blink orange.
- Perform a brief press on the button again to validate the reset.
- If successful, the LED will flash red and green alternately, then blink orange. Repeat if necessary.
A successful reset prepares the module to join a new Zigbee network.
Unpairing Procedure
To remove the module from its current Zigbee network, perform a module reset as described in the "Reset Procedure" section.
