Shokz OpenSwim S700 User Guide

How It Works

Headphone Controls

The Shokz OpenSwim headphones feature several controls:

  • LED Indicator: Located on the headphones, shows status (e.g., blue for power on, red for power off).
  • Terminals: Four connection points for charging.
  • Volume - Button: Decreases volume.
  • Volume + Button: Increases volume.
  • Mode Button (M): Used for changing EQ modes and other functions.
  • Multifunction/Power Button: Powers the device on/off and controls playback.

ON/OFF

To turn on the headphones:

Press and hold the Multifunction/Power Button until the LED Indicator flashes blue. The device will announce "Welcome to Shokz".

To turn off the headphones:

Press and hold the Multifunction/Power Button until the LED Indicator flashes red. The device will announce "Power off".

Transferring Content

To load music onto your OpenSwim headphones:

  1. Connect the OpenSwim to your computer using the USB Charging Cradle.
  2. The OpenSwim will appear as a removable hard drive named "OpenSwim" on your computer.
  3. Open the "OpenSwim" drive and drag-and-drop audio files or folders into it. Supported formats include MP3, WAV, WMA, FLAC, and AAC. (Note: WAV files must be in Linear PCM format).
  4. Once file transfer is complete, you can disconnect the USB Charging Cradle. The LED indicator may flash red and blue while the OpenSwim organizes the files; during this time, the buttons are temporarily non-functional.

How to Wear

To wear the headphones correctly:

  1. Pick up the headphones.
  2. Bring them behind the back of your neck.
  3. Position the earhooks comfortably on your ears.

Wearing the headphones incorrectly may cause discomfort. Ensure the transducers rest in front of your ears for optimal sound and comfort.

Volume

You can adjust the volume while audio is playing:

Press the Volume + Button to increase volume or the Volume - Button to decrease volume.

A "beep" sound will indicate when the volume has reached its maximum level.

Caution: Listening at high volumes for extended periods may affect your hearing. ⚠️

Music Function

Control your music playback using the headphone buttons:

  • Play/Pause Music: Click the Multifunction/Power Button once. ▶️
  • Play Mode: Click the Mode Button once to cycle through modes like "Normal", "Repeat", and "Shuffle".
  • Next Song: Press and hold the Volume + Button for 2 seconds while music is playing. ⏩
  • Previous Song: Press and hold the Volume - Button for 2 seconds while music is playing. ⏪
  • Change EQ Setting: Press and hold the Mode Button for 2 seconds.

Check Battery Status

You can check the battery level when audio is not playing:

Click either the Volume + or Volume - button while music is paused. The device's voice assistant, Audrey, will announce the battery status (e.g., "Battery high", "Battery medium", "Battery low", "Charge me"). ⚠️

Extra Features

EQ Modes

The OpenSwim headphones offer different Equalizer (EQ) modes:

  • General Mode: Provides a balanced frequency response suitable for general music listening. ??
  • Swimming Mode: Optimized for use while swimming, potentially enhancing clarity underwater. ?

Switching EQ Modes

You can switch between EQ modes while music is playing:

Press and hold the Mode Button while music is playing until you hear a beep. Audrey will announce the selected mode, such as "General mode" or "Swimming mode".

Changing Languages

Your headphones support multiple languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.

To change the language:

Press and hold both the Volume + and Volume - buttons simultaneously until you hear a beep. Audrey will then announce the available languages, allowing you to select your preferred one.

Change the Folder

It is recommended to organize your music into different folders for easier management.

To change the playback folder:

Press and hold both the Multifunction Button and the Volume - button until you hear a beep. Audrey will announce "Play Current Folder" or "Play All Folders".

To switch to the next folder, after hearing "Play Current Folder", press and hold both the Volume + and Multifunction Button for 2 seconds. Audrey will then announce "Next folder".

Care and Maintenance

Charging Tips

The headphones will automatically shut down when they are connected for charging. ?

To charge your OpenSwim:

  1. Attach the OpenSwim to the USB Charging Cradle. Ensure the Pogo Pins on the cradle make firm contact with the Terminals on the headphones.
  2. Connect the USB Charging Cradle to a computer or a suitable power adapter.
  3. The LED indicator on the headphones will turn blue when charging is complete.
