Setup Process

There are six steps for the setup process:

  1. 1. Insert Batteries into the Remote Control

    Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control. Insert two R03/AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity ([plus-terminal] and [minus-terminal] markings). Close the compartment cover.

  2. 2. Connect the Speakers to the Amplifier

    Connecting the Speaker Cables:

    1. Strip approximately 10 mm of insulation from the end of each speaker cable. Twist the exposed wire strands together firmly. You may optionally apply a small amount of solder to the twisted strands.
    2. Turn the speaker terminal counter-clockwise to loosen it.
    3. Insert the stripped wire end of the speaker cable into the terminal opening, ensuring it reaches the base of the terminal.
    4. Turn the speaker terminal clockwise to tighten it securely onto the cable.

    Connect the left speaker to the 'L' speaker terminals (A or B) and the right speaker to the 'R' speaker terminals (A or B) on the rear of the amplifier. Ensure correct polarity ([plus-terminal] to [plus-terminal], [minus-terminal] to [minus-terminal]).

  3. 3. Connect the CD Player to the Amplifier

    Use RCA audio cables to connect the AUDIO OUT (Left and Right channels) of your CD player to the AUDIO IN (CD, Left and Right channels) on the rear of the Marantz PM8005 amplifier.

  4. 4. Plug the Power Cord into an Outlet

    Connect the supplied power cord to the AC IN socket on the rear of the amplifier. Then, plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet (rated for 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz).

  5. 5. Turn on the Amplifier's Power

    First, turn the VOLUME knob on the front of the amplifier to its minimum level. Then, press the [power-symbol] button on the front panel to switch on the amplifier.

  6. 6. Start Playback

    Use the INPUT SELECTOR knob on the front of the amplifier to select the "CD" input source. Start playback on your connected CD player. Adjust the VOLUME knob to your desired listening level.
