RC-51H User Manual
Multi-use Temperature&Humidity Data Logger
Product Overview
This temperature and humidity data logger is primarily used in fields such as medicine, food, life science, flowers, breeding industry, ice chests, containers, shady cabinets, medical cabinets, refrigerators, laboratories, and greenhouses. The RC-51H is a plug-and-play device that can directly generate a data report without requiring data management software. Data can still be accessed even if the battery runs out.
Structure Description
The RC-51H data logger features the following components:
- 1 Transparent cap: Protects the device.
- 2 USB port: For connecting to a computer to download data.
- 3 LCD screen: Displays status, readings, and menu information.
- 4 Seal ring: Ensures environmental protection.
- 5 Button & Bi-color indicator: Used for operation and status indication (red and green).
- 6 Sensor: Measures temperature and humidity.
- 7 Product label: Contains model and serial number information.
The LCD screen displays various indicators:
- A Battery indicator: Shows battery status.
- B Mean kinetic temperature: Displays MKT value.
- C Start recording indicator: Indicates recording has started.
- D Stop recording indicator: Indicates recording has stopped.
- E Cyclic recording indicator: Shows if cyclic recording is active.
- F Computer connection indicator: Signals connection to a PC.
- G Temperature unit: Displays temperature in °C or °F.
- H Humidity unit or Progress percentage: Shows humidity unit or data download progress.
- I Timing indicator: Indicates timing functions.
- J Average value indicator: Displays average readings.
- K Number of records: Shows the count of stored readings.
- L Combined indicator: For various combined statuses.
Diagram Description: The device is a compact data logger with a transparent cap, USB port, LCD screen, seal ring, a button with bi-color indicator, and a sensor. Various status indicators are displayed on the LCD screen, including battery, MKT, recording status (start/stop/cyclic), computer connection, temperature/humidity units, timing, average value, record count, and combined indicators.
Parameter Instruction
Users can reconfigure parameters using data management software. Note that original parameters and data will be cleared upon reconfiguration.
Alarm Thresholds
The data logger supports 3 upper temperature limits, 2 lower temperature limits, 1 upper humidity limit, and 1 lower humidity limit.
Alarm Zone
The alarm zone is the range beyond the defined alarm thresholds.
Alarm Type
- Single: Records the single duration of continuous over-temperature or over-humidity events.
- Cumulative: Records the total cumulative time of all over-temperature or over-humidity events.
Alarm Delay
The data logger does not trigger an alarm immediately when readings enter the alarm zone. An alarm is triggered only after the condition persists for the specified alarm delay time.
Mean Kinetic Temperature (MKT)
MKT is an evaluation method used to assess the temperature fluctuation effect on stored goods.
Operating Instructions
The data logger can be stopped via software or by pressing the stop button on the device. The table below outlines the operating procedures:
Action | Parameter Configuration | Operation | LCD Indicator | Indicator Status |
---|---|---|---|---|
Start | Instant-on | Disconnect to USB | REC | ? Green indicator flashes 5 times. |
Timing start | Disconnect to USB | REC | ? Green indicator flashes 5 times. | |
Manual start | Press and hold for 5s | REC | ? Green indicator flashes 5 times. | |
Manual start (delayed) | Press and hold for 5s | REC | ? Green indicator flashes 5 times. | |
Stop | Manual stop | Press and hold for 5s | STOP | ? Red indicator flashes 5 times. |
Over-Max-record-capacity stop (disable manual stop) | Reach the Max capacity | STOP | ? Red indicator flashes 5 times. | |
Over-Max-record-capacity stop (Enable manual stop) | Reach the Max capacity or press and hold the button for 5s | STOP | ? Red indicator flashes 5 times. |
View Data
When the data logger is connected to a computer's USB port, a data report is automatically generated. During report creation, the red and green indicators flash alternately, and the LCD screen shows the progress. Once created, both indicators light up simultaneously. Report generation typically takes no more than 4 minutes.
Diagram Description: Step 1: Rotate the transparent cap in the direction of the arrow (➡️) and remove it. Step 2: Insert the data logger (?) into the computer and view the data report.
