How to Replace Front Stabilizer Bar Bushes on Opel Astra G (T98, F08, F48)
A comprehensive guide by AUTODOC

This replacement procedure can be used for:
- OPEL ASTRA G Estate (T98) 1.2 16V (F35)
- OPEL ASTRA G Hatchback (T98) 1.2 16V (F08, F48)
- OPEL ASTRA G Saloon (T98) 1.2 16V (F69)
- OPEL CORSA C (X01) 1.2 (F08, F68)
- OPEL CORSA C Box (X01) 1.2 16V (F08, W5L)
The steps may slightly vary depending on the car design.
Required Tools:
- Wire brush
- WD-40 spray
- Combination spanner #13
- Drive socket # E12
- Wheel impact socket #17
- Torque wrench
- Crow bar
- Wheel chock

AUTODOC Recommends:
- Both stabilizer bushes should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left stabilizer bushes.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry Out Replacement in the Following Order:

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Unscrew the wheel bolts.
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.

Remove the wheel.

Clean the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Unscrew the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a combination spanner #13.

Remove the fastening bolts (2 pieces).

Remove the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a crowbar.

Remove the stabilizer bushes.

Clean the mounting seats of the stabilizer bushes. Use WD-40 spray.

Install the new stabilizer bushes.

Install the stabilizer bush brackets.

Install the fastening bolts (2 pieces).

Screw the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a drive socket #E12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 nm torque.

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.

Install the wheel.
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
