HEMFJÄLLET Divan Bed Cover Assembly Instructions
This document provides instructions for assembling and fitting the HEMFJÄLLET divan bed cover by IKEA.
General Assembly Information
Ensure you have all parts before starting. Two people are recommended for assembly.
Step 1: Preparation
Unpack the cover and check its contents. If the cover is wrinkled, it can be ironed on a board with an iron set to a low temperature.
Step 2: Placing the Base Cover
Place the divan bed base. Identify the correct cover for the base (labeled 'FÖLUNGEN'). Place the cover over the divan bed base, aligning it correctly.
Step 3: Securing the Base Cover
Pull the cover down and secure it using the provided fasteners. This may involve zippers or velcro straps.
Fitting the Headboard Cover
Step 4: Attaching the Headboard Cover
Two people should lift the headboard cover and place it onto the headboard, ensuring it is centered.
Step 5: Securing the Headboard Cover
Align the cover with the headboard and secure it using the integrated fasteners or straps. Ensure a snug fit.
Step 6: Adjusting the Headboard Cover
Pull the bottom edges of the headboard cover down and tuck them into the base of the headboard or secure them with fasteners.
Step 7: Final Adjustments for Headboard Cover
Tuck any excess fabric around the sides and bottom of the headboard for a neat appearance.
Completing the Bed Assembly
Step 8: Securing the Sides of the Base Cover
Ensure the sides of the divan bed cover are properly secured to the base, tucking in any loose material.
Step 9: Placing the Mattress
Place the mattress onto the divan bed base. The mattress should be between 20-24 cm (7 7/8" - 9 1/2") thick.
Step 10: Fitting the Mattress Cover
Carefully pull the mattress cover over the mattress, ensuring it is evenly distributed. Secure the cover by tucking the edges underneath the mattress.
Step 11: Finalizing the Mattress Cover Fit
Tuck the corners of the mattress cover securely under the mattress for a smooth finish.
Step 12: Securing the Mattress Cover Corners
Ensure all corners of the mattress cover are tucked in tightly.
Step 13: Final Mattress Placement
Ensure the mattress is correctly positioned on the divan bed base.
Step 14: Finalizing the Mattress Cover
Tuck the remaining edges of the mattress cover under the divan bed base.
Care Instructions
The cover can be washed in a washing machine.
Step 1: Removing the Cover
Carefully remove the mattress cover from the mattress.
Step 2: Washing the Cover
Follow the washing instructions on the product label. Typically, covers can be machine washed.
Step 3: Re-fitting the Cover
Once dry, re-fit the cover onto the mattress and headboard as per the assembly steps.
