Important Information to Read First
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during delivery and storage. If you notice the first signs of insufficient power (e.g., dim display), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or a CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Moving the hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance ratings (I to V) according to their degree of protection. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Rating I: Watches are not water resistant. Avoid any moisture.
Explanation of Ratings:
- II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- III 5 Bar (50 meters): Watches can withstand water pressure of the indicated level and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
- IV 10 Bar (100 meters): Watches can be used for normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V 20 Bar (200 meters): Watches can be used for scuba diving (excluding dives requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket protecting the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although designed for active daily use, wear the watch carefully and avoid drops.
- Do not overtighten the strap. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners).
- When not in use, store the watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's polish.
- Some watch straps feature silk-screened graphics. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.
- For watches with plastic straps: A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This is harmless to skin or clothing and can be removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, and storage in high humidity, can damage plastic straps. Wipe them clean with a soft cloth to ensure a long service life.
- For watches with fluorescent cases and straps: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fading. Wipe off any moisture as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with other wet surfaces can cause discoloration. Check that moisture is removed from fluorescent surfaces and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a fluorescent surface against another surface may transfer the fluorescent color.
- In conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inner side of the glass. This is a physical phenomenon and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of these watches and does not accept claims from third parties.
