Miele Built-Under Dishwasher Installation Diagram: Hardwired Electrical Connection
Important Safety Information: Before proceeding with installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected by removing the fuse, shutting off the main power, or tripping the circuit breaker. Working on an energized circuit can cause serious injury from electric shock. This work must only be performed by a qualified technician.
The existing flexible supply cord or cable must have a minimum thickness of AWG 14.
Electrical Specifications: 120 V, 60 Hz, 15 A fuse rating.
- Black wire (live): connect to L
- White wire (neutral): connect to N
- Green wire (ground): connect to ⏚
Installation Steps
The following steps outline the installation process. Refer to the diagrams for visual guidance.
Step 1: Disconnect Power
Ensure the power supply is disconnected before starting any electrical work. This is crucial to prevent electrical shock.
Diagrams show disconnecting power via fuse, main switch, or circuit breaker.
Step 2: Prepare Electrical Connection
Locate the electrical connection point on the dishwasher. Connect the wires according to the color coding: black to L, white to N, and green to the ground terminal.
Diagrams illustrate connecting wires to terminals labeled L, N, and ⏚.
Step 3: Secure the Dishwasher
Screw in the feet before moving the dishwasher into its final position. Avoid using a cordless screwdriver to prevent damage.
Diagrams show screwing in feet and a warning against using cordless screwdrivers.
Step 4: Door Spring Adjustment
After mounting the door panel, ensure the door springs are set equally on both sides for proper operation.
Diagrams illustrate adjusting door springs.
Step 5: Water Drainage Venting
If the on-site drainage connection is lower than the guide path for the lower basket rollers, the drainage system must be vented to prevent siphoning.
Diagrams show the water drainage connection and venting procedure.
Step 6: Hose and Cord Management
Ensure the intake hose and power cord are not kinked by the dishwasher feet when pushed into the niche. The hose needs to be free of kinks and able to move freely after installation. Avoid placing the hose or power cord near heat sources or corrosive substances. Damage to the hose or power cord can lead to electrical shock or water damage.
Diagrams illustrate proper hose and cord placement and potential hazards.
Step 7: Final Checks
Before connecting to the power supply, verify that the voltage and frequency on the data plate match your household electrical supply to prevent machine damage.
Diagrams show the data plate and connection points.
