Miele Fully Integrated Dishwasher Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for the installation of Miele fully integrated dishwashers with a hardwired electrical connection.
Please read the Operating/Installation and Important Safety Instructions before installation or use to prevent accidents and machine damage.
General Safety Precautions
- Warning: Cutting hazard.
- Risk of damage or fire hazard.
- Ensure feet are screwed in before moving the dishwasher.
- Do not use a cordless screwdriver to avoid risk of damage.
- Sharp edges can damage the power cord and hoses. If the dividing panel inside your cabinet is made from wood, use sandpaper to round off the edges of the cut-out.
Preparation and Measurements
The minimum/maximum weight of the front panel is quoted in the technical data for your dishwasher on the Miele website.
Required Tools (depend on model):
- Screwdriver (e.g., T20)
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Pliers
- Sandpaper
Fittings supplied depend on model.
Diagrams show various screws, brackets, and fittings.
Water and Electrical Connections
Intake Hose Considerations:
- If the intake hose will be coiled under the dishwasher after it is inserted in its niche, the undercounter height must be at least 32 7/8" (835 mm) for standard height models or 34 13/16" (885 mm) for XXL height models.
- Do not sit the dishwasher on the hose. The hose needs to be free of kinks and able to move freely after installation.
- Do not place the hose or power cord next to a heat source (e.g., hot water pipes).
- Do not expose the hose or power cord to corrosive substances.
- Damage to the hose or power cord could cause electrical shock or water damage!
Electrical Connection (Hardwired):
CAUTION: Before performing electrical work, disconnect the power supply by removing the fuse, shutting off the power main, or manually tripping the circuit breaker. Installation work and repairs should only be performed by a qualified technician in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. Repairs and service by unqualified persons could be dangerous.
- Ensure the voltage and frequency listed on the data plate correspond with the household electrical supply.
- The power cord must not be kinked by the dishwasher feet when the dishwasher is pushed into the niche.
- Existing flexible supply cord or cable shall have a minimum thickness of AWG 14.
- For 120 V, 60 Hz, 15 A fuse rating:
- Black wire (live): connect to L
- White wire (neutral): connect to N
- Green wire (ground): connect to ground terminal
Venting the Water Drainage
If the on-site drainage connection is situated lower than the guide path for the lower basket rollers in the open door, the drainage system must be vented.
Diagrams show the process of venting the drainage system.
Finalizing Installation
The door springs must be set equally on both sides after securing the front panel to the door.
Diagrams illustrate the attachment of the front panel and adjustment of door springs.
Electrical Safety Note:
Before continuing with the next steps, ensure that the power supply is disconnected. Working on an energized circuit could cause serious injury by electrical shock. This work should only be performed by a qualified technician!
