Overview
The Elitech IR-200 is a versatile, hand-held, two-in-one leak detector developed by Elitech®. This advanced product integrates both infrared and heated diode sensor technologies, allowing for seamless switching between two detection modes. Compared to traditional corona or heated diode detectors, the IR-200 features a sensor with enhanced accuracy and a longer service life. It can detect a wider range of refrigerants and is designed to withstand high concentrations of refrigerants without damage. The detector boasts an ergonomic design and an innovative large TFT LCD display, optimizing the user experience and presenting detection results intuitively.

Operation
- Before starting, ensure the battery is sufficiently charged for the detection (typically takes about 30 minutes per detection).
- Ensure the system pressure is at least 340 Kpa (50 psi) before detection, as many refrigerant leaks are undetectable at low pressure.
- Infrared Mode: Keep the detector moving during detection, as the infrared sensor detects relative gas concentrations. If concentration remains unchanged, it may not pinpoint leaks.
- Heated Diode Mode: Move the detector slowly during detection.
- Do not place the detector near organic solvents, detergents, or high-voltage power supplies. Wipe the detector with a clean towel.
Steps:
- Turn on the detector. Wait for the warm-up countdown (approx. 30 seconds) to reach optimal detection status.
- Identify potential leak locations, such as:
- Joints in refrigerant lines
- Points with changes in cross-section
- Points with changes in vertical section
- Move the probe slowly (approx. 3 ft/s or 75 mm/s) at suspicious leak points, moving back and forth within 0.25" (6mm) of the leak area. A closer probe position and slower sweeping movement improve leak detection.
- The buzzer and LCD display will indicate detected leaks:
- Buzzer: Beeping frequency increases with leak intensity.
- LCD Display: Bar graph rises with leak intensity.
- Follow the steps above to scan the entire refrigerant system and mark each found leak.
Display Indicators (Infrared Interface):
- 1. Buzzer: Indicates buzzer status. Red icon: disabled; Green icon: enabled.
- 2. Peak value: Indicates the maximum detected leakage. Note: PEAK function must be ON for peak value to display.
- 3. Leak value: Indicates current detected leakage. Higher concentration = higher bars.
- 4. Sensitivity level: Displays current sensitivity. Levels: H (high), M (medium), L (low).
- 5. Battery charging status: Indicates charging progress.
- 6. Battery level: Displays current battery level. Green: Full; Yellow: Low; Red: Extreme-low (charge ASAP).
- 7. PEAK ON/OFF: Indicates PEAK function status. ON or OFF. Turning off PEAK clears recorded values.

Display Indicators (Heated Diode Interface):
- 1. Leakage reference value: Based on detected concentration.
- 2. Record reference value: Used to locate the maximum leakage point.

Other Information:
- Alert: If the sensor is faulty, the display will show "Error: Sensor".
- Warm-up countdown: Wait approximately 30 seconds after turning on the detector until the warm-up finishes.
Maintenance
Battery Charging & Maintenance
- Avoid complete discharging and frequent charging, as this can affect battery life.
- If the detector is not used for a long time, charge it beforehand to prevent battery life reduction due to self-discharging. Do not store for more than 6 months without charging.
- Use a DC 5V/1A power adapter for charging. Full recharging time is approximately 4 hours.
- Charging Indicator: Orange indicates charging; Green indicates fully charged. The device displays charging status when connected.
- Performing leakage detection during charging is not recommended as it may cause false alarms.
- The device contains two replaceable 18650 Li batteries. Reverse battery installation will cause irreversible damage.

Filter Replacement
The filter prevents large particle contaminants and moisture, reducing false alarms caused by humidity. Replace the filter when it becomes seriously polluted (black and clogged).
Follow these steps:
- Unscrew the filter components counterclockwise.
- Screw the filter components clockwise.
