Safety Information
⚠️ Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.
CAUTION: Read instructions carefully and turn electricity off at main circuit breaker panel before beginning installation.
CAUTION: Risk of fire. Min. 90°C supply conductors. Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct branch circuit conductor.
WARNING: If any Special Control Devices are used with this fixture, follow instructions carefully to assure full compliance with N.E.C. requirements. If there are any questions, contact a qualified electrical contractor.
CAUTION: All glass is fragile. Use care when handling glass shades and bulbs.
Preparation
- Before beginning installation, make sure all parts are included using the contents diagrams from page 1. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product.
- Estimated assembly time: 30 minutes.
- Tools required for assembly (not included): Phillips screwdriver, pliers, wire stripper, safety glasses, electrical tape, ladder.
Care and Maintenance
Shut off main power supply before cleaning product or changing light bulbs. To clean, wipe with damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaners that contain alcohol.
Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Mounting Plate
1. Loosely thread the screws (AA) and the hex nuts (DD) onto the round mounting plate (CC) as shown. Adjust the screw length according to the fixture canopy depth.
2. Attach this assembly to the outlet box using the mounting screws supplied with the outlet box (not provided). Tighten securely.
3. Lift up the fixture and pass the screws (AA) through the two mounting holes in the fixture canopy. While holding the fixture, thread the screws (AA) in or out of the round mounting plate (CC) until 3/16" [5mm] of threads are showing. This length should be sufficient for mounting the fixture.
4. Tighten the hex nuts (DD) up against the mounting plate (CC) to secure the adjusted screw length.
Diagram Description: Shows two methods for adjusting screw length on the mounting plate. The 'INCORRECT' method shows screws too long or too short. The 'CORRECT' method shows screws extended approximately 3/16" [5mm] from the mounting plate.
Step 2: Install Fixture Canopy
(This step is integrated into the description of Step 1 in the original document's flow, detailing how to adjust and secure the canopy screws.)
The process of adjusting the screws (AA) and securing them with hex nuts (DD) against the mounting plate (CC) ensures the fixture canopy will mount correctly.
Step 3: Adjust Cord Length
1. Choose your preferred canopy finish. Pass the electrical wire through the cord bushing (E) and out of the canopy assembly (D).
2. Loosen the strain relief set screw (FF). Pass the wire through the strain relief (FF) to adjust the cord length. Once the desired hanging length is determined, tighten the set screw securely.
Diagram Description: Shows the canopy assembly (D) with the wire passing through the cord bushing (E) and the strain relief (FF). An arrow indicates adjusting the wire through the strain relief to set the length.
Step 4: Make Electrical Connections
1. Strip approximately 3/8" of insulation from the ends of the electrical wires.
2. Using wire nuts (BB), connect the WHITE fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box.
3. Connect the BLACK fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire using a wire nut (BB).
4. Connect the fixture ground wire and the supply ground wire using a wire nut (BB) or by fastening to the ground screw on the round mounting plate (CC).
5. Carefully push all wire connections into the outlet box.
Diagram Description: Illustrates wire connections. Shows supply wires (white and black) connecting to fixture wires (white and black) with wire nuts. Also shows ground wire connection (bare copper or green) to either a wire nut or the green ground screw.
Step 5: Secure Fixture
1. Pass the screws (AA) through the two holes in the fixture canopy.
2. Secure the fixture (A) to the screws (AA) using the two cylinder nuts (EE) and tighten securely.
Diagram Description: Shows the fixture canopy being attached to the mounting screws with cylinder nuts.
Step 6: Attach Shade and Install Lamp
1. Attach the shade (B) by sliding its "U" slot onto the fixture as shown. Secure the shade (B) tightly to the fixture (A) using the cord bushing (E).
2. Thread the lamp (not included) into the fixture socket. Use a 100-watt MAX incandescent medium base lamp, SBCFL or SBLED.
Diagram Description: Shows the shade (B) being attached to the fixture (A) using the cord bushing (E). An illustration of a lamp being screwed into the socket is also shown.
Step 7: Install Diffuser
1. Following the steps shown, place the diffuser (C) UP into the shade (B) from the bottom, on an angle.
2. Lower the diffuser (C) down onto the perimeter wire to secure it.
Diagram Description: A sequence of four small diagrams showing how to insert the diffuser (C) into the shade (B). The diffuser is angled and then seated onto an internal wire.
