JOY HC 3AO

Details Value
Output voltage 3x 0..10 V, max. load 5 mA, 6-way valve control, heating & cooling)
Power supply* 24 V = (±10%) or 24 V ~ (±10%) SELV
Power consumption max. 2.5 W (24 V =)
Inputs DI 1: input for NTC10K or floating contact DI 2: input for floating contact

*Power supply: When several BUS devices are supplied by one 24 V AC voltage supply, ensure that all "positive" operating voltage input terminals (+) of the field devices are connected together and all "negative" operating voltage input terminals (-) (=reference potential) are connected together (in-phase connection of field devices). In case of reversed polarity at one field device, a supply voltage short-circuit would be caused by that device. The consequential short-circuit current flowing through this field may cause damage to it. Therefore, pay attention to correct wiring.

Function Description - Controller

JOY HC AO2DO (85..260 V ~)

PI controller (PWM) & 2-point/3-point controller (configurable)

The manipulated variable is output as a proportional control signal to the 6-way valve. Valve type is set via configuration software (e.g., 2..10 V, 0..10 V). A freely parameterizable 6-way valve (generic 6WV) is also possible.

Heating/Cooling with 2-point-/ 3-point-controller (only HC AO2DO)

The 2-point controller has heating ON/OFF states. The 3-point controller also includes cooling states. Both use hysteresis.

[Diagram showing heating/cooling control with hysteresis]

Heating/Cooling with PI-controller (PWM) (only HC AO2DO)

The PI control loop's time response depends on proportional (xp) and reset time (tn) parameters. The P portion changes position value proportionally to the error variable, while the integral portion takes effect after a time. The resulting variable is output as a pulse-width-modulated signal.

Heating/Cooling with PI-controller (0..10 V) (only HC 3AO)

Similar to the PWM PI controller, the time response depends on xp and tn. The P portion changes position value proportionally to the error variable, while the integral portion takes effect after a time. The resulting variable is output as an analog 0..10 V signal.

CO2 + Humidity Measuring Value

CO2 sensor measures 0-2000 ppm (1 ppm resolution). Value can be adjusted for calibration or auto self-calibration. Humidity sensor measures 0-100% (0.1% resolution). Value can be adjusted for calibration. Humidity and CO2 values can be read via bus or displayed, but are not processed internally.

Display

Value Screen

Header (value/symbol display)

Displays time, weekday, date, ECO symbol (mode dependent), and alarm symbol (higher priority than ECO symbol).

Footer (symbol display)

Shows symbols for heating/cooling mode, occupancy, window contact, etc. The "Timechannel active" symbol appears when a time channel is active.

[Icons for Occupancy, Heating, Cooling, Time-channel active, Window contact/dew point]

Function Description – Buttons

Touch surface allows adjustment for setpoint and fan speed regulation. White ring-LED of the Power button provides visual feedback.

After 3 seconds of inactivity, the display returns to the main screen.

Standby Mode

In standby mode, the display and all outputs are switched off (controller deactivated). Frost and heat protection monitoring remain active.

Navigation Parameter Menu

Use up, down, left, right buttons to navigate. Right button opens submenu. Left button in header exits submenu. Confirmation via Enter key.

[Diagram showing navigation buttons]

Diagnostics Menu

Access the diagnostics menu by selecting the header in the parameter menu startscreen and pressing the ENTER key. Provides information on device type, software version, input/output states, and controller state.

Parameter Menu - BACnet Interface

Activate configuration menu by simultaneously pressing "up" (A) and "down" (C) buttons for at least 5 seconds.

The menu is enabled for the first 60 minutes after power-on, provided the device is not actively involved in BACnet communication. Access is blocked after 60 minutes if no valid communication occurs or if a valid request is received from a DDC.

+0.0% Value rH
Calib. CO2 +560ppm Calib. CO2: A measured value can be entered here that is determined with a reference measuring device near the appliance. (Calibration CO2 Sensor (Forced))
ASC CO2 +643ppm ASC CO2: Switches the ASC (Automatic Self Calibration) function ON / OFF (factory setting ON).

Calibration CO2 Sensor (Forced)

The key combination (top left + top right) calibrates the detected air mixture with the configured display value. This works only in the CO2 sensor settings menu. Attention: CO2 sources (e.g., breathing air) influence the measured value recording!

The ASC function is deactivated during forced calibration.

ASC (Automatic Selfcalibration)

The ASC function sets the lowest recorded CO2 value (7-day period) as the reference value for measured value recording. A sufficient supply of fresh air within the 7-day period is necessary for correct measurement results.

CO2 Factory Setting

Use the key combination to reset the sensor to factory settings. This works only in the CO2 sensor settings menu.
