NOTE: For models of RG10Y1 (D2)/BGEF, RG10Y2(D2S)/BGEF, if the unit is turned off under COOL, AUTO or DRY mode with the set temperature less than 24°C, the set temperature will be automatically set to 24°C when you turn on the unit again. If the unit is turned off under HEAT mode with the set temperature more than 24°C, the set temperature will be automatically set to 24°C when you turn on the unit again.

Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps for basic operation:

  1. Fit Batteries: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted into the remote control.
  2. Select Mode: Press the 'Mode' button to cycle through AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, and FAN modes.
  3. Select Temperature: Use the UP (⬆) and DOWN (⬇) arrow buttons to set the desired temperature.
  4. Select Fan Speed: Use the fan speed buttons to choose your preferred fan speed.
  5. Point Remote Toward Unit: Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the air conditioning unit.
  6. Press Power Button: Press the ON/OFF (⏻) button to turn the unit on or off.

Handling the Remote Controller

Inserting and Replacing Batteries

Your air conditioning unit may come with two batteries. Put the batteries in the remote control before use.

  1. Slide the back cover from the remote control downward, exposing the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the batteries, paying attention to match up the (+) and (-) ends of the batteries with the symbols inside the battery compartment.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

BATTERY NOTES: For optimum product performance:

BATTERY DISPOSAL: Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal of batteries.

Buttons and Functions

Before you begin using your new air conditioner, make sure to familiarize yourself with its remote control. The following is a brief introduction to the remote control itself. For instructions on how to operate your air conditioner, refer to the 'How to Use Basic Functions' section of this manual.

ON/OFF (⏻)

Turns the unit on or off.

TEMP ⬆ / ⬇

Increases or decreases the temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments. Maximum temperature is 30°C (86°F). Minimum temperature is 16°C (60°F). Pressing both TEMP ⬆ and ⬇ buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds will alternate the temperature display between °C and °F.

SET

Scrolls through operation functions. The selected symbol will flash on the display area; press the OK button to confirm. Functions include: Breeze Away (?️), Sleep (?), Follow Me (?), AP mode (?).

FAN SPEED (?)

Selects fan speeds in the following order: AUTO ➔ LOW ➔ MED ➔ HIGH. Holding this button down for 2 seconds activates the Silence feature (some units). You can also press the TEMP ⬆ or ⬇ button to increase/decrease the fan speed in 1% increments.

SWING (↔️)

Starts and stops the horizontal louver movement. Hold down for 2 seconds to initiate the vertical louver auto swing feature (some units).

MODE (?)

Scrolls through operation modes: AUTO ➔ COOL ➔ DRY ➔ HEAT ➔ FAN. Note: HEAT mode is not supported by cooling-only appliances.

ECO/GEAR (?)

Press this button to enter the energy-efficient mode in a sequence: ECO ➔ GEAR (75%) ➔ GEAR (50%) ➔ Previous setting mode ➔ ECO. This function is only available under COOL mode.

OK (✔️)

Used to confirm the selected functions.

TIMER (?)

Set timer to turn the unit on or off.

FRESH (?)

Used to start/stop the Fresh feature (some units).

CLEAN (?)

Used to start/stop the Self Clean or Active Clean function (model dependent). Please refer to the USER'S OPERATION & INSTALLATION MANUAL.

LED (?)

Turns the indoor unit's LED display and air conditioner buzzer on and off (model dependent), creating a comfortable and quiet environment.

TURBO (?)

Enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest possible time.

SLEEP (?)

Saves energy during sleeping hours. Not available in FAN or DRY mode.

SHORTCUT (?)

Used to restore the current settings or resume previous settings. Pressing for more than 2 seconds restores the current operation settings.

FP function

For heat pump air conditioners only. Operates at high fan speed with temperature automatically set to 8°C/46°F. Activate by pressing the FAN button twice within one second under HEAT Mode with specific temperature settings (refer to manual for models). Can be canceled by pressing ON/OFF, Sleep, Mode, Fan, or Temp buttons.

LOCK function (?)

Activate by pressing Clean and Turbo buttons simultaneously for over 5 seconds. All buttons become unresponsive except for Clean and Turbo, which can disable the lock when pressed together again for 2 seconds.

Remote Screen Indicators

Information is displayed when the remote controller is powered up. The display window shows relative function signs during actual operation.

Note: All indicators shown are for presentation purposes. Only relative function signs are shown during actual operation.

How to Use Basic Functions

ATTENTION: Before operation, please ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available.

AUTO Mode

  1. Select AUTO mode.
  2. Set your desired temperature.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner.

NOTE: In AUTO mode, the unit automatically selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT based on the set temperature. Fan speed cannot be set in AUTO mode.

COOL or HEAT Mode

  1. Select COOL/HEAT mode.
  2. Set the temperature.
  3. Set the fan speed.
  4. Turn on the air conditioner.

DRY Mode

  1. Select DRY mode.
  2. Set your desired temperature.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner.

NOTE: In DRY mode, fan speed is automatically controlled and cannot be set.

FAN Mode

  1. Select FAN mode.
  2. Set the fan speed.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner.

NOTE: In FAN mode, you cannot set the temperature, so no temperature displays on the remote screen.

Setting the TIMER

Use the TIMER button to set the amount of time after which the unit will automatically turn on or off.

TIMER ON setting

Press the TIMER button to initiate the ON time sequence. Use the Temp. up or down buttons to set the desired time to turn on the unit.

TIMER OFF setting

Press the TIMER button to initiate the OFF time sequence. Use the Temp. up or down buttons to set the desired time to turn off the unit.

NOTE:

TIMER ON & OFF setting (example)

The time periods set for both functions refer to hours after the current time. For example, if the current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer ON for 2.5 hours means the unit will turn on at 3:30 PM. Setting the timer OFF for 5 hours means the unit will turn off at 6:00 PM.

How to Use Advanced Functions

Swing function (↔️)

Press the Swing button. The horizontal louver will swing up and down automatically. Press again to stop. Holding the button for more than 2 seconds activates the vertical louver auto swing feature (model dependent).

Airflow direction

By repeatedly pressing the SWING button, you can set five different airflow directions. The louver moves to a specific range with each press. Press until the desired direction is reached.

NOTE: When the unit is off, press and hold MODE and SWING buttons together for one second to open the louver for cleaning. Press and hold them again for one second to reset the louver (model dependent).

LED DISPLAY (?)

Press the LED button to turn the indoor unit's display and buzzer on or off (model dependent).

Press and hold the LED button for more than 5 seconds (some units) to display the actual room temperature. Pressing again for more than 5 seconds reverts to displaying the set temperature.

ECO/GEAR function (?)

Press this button to cycle through energy-efficient modes: ECO ➔ GEAR (75%) ➔ GEAR (50%) ➔ Previous setting mode ➔ ECO. This function is only available under COOL mode.

NOTE: Pressing the ECO/GEAR button, changing the mode, or adjusting the set temperature below 24°C/75°F will stop ECO operation. If cooling is insufficient, press the ECO button again to stop it.

SHORTCUT function (?)

Press the SHORTCUT button (some units). When the remote controller is on, this function reverts to previous settings (mode, temperature, fan speed, sleep). Pressing for more than 2 seconds restores current operation settings.

Silence function (?)

Press and hold the Fan button for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable the Silence function (some units). This may result in reduced cooling/heating capacity due to low-frequency compressor operation. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Sleep, Turbo, or Clean buttons cancels this function.

FP function

This function is for heat pump air conditioners only. The unit operates at high fan speed with the temperature automatically set to 8°C/46°F. It is activated by pressing the FAN button twice within one second under HEAT Mode with specific temperature settings (refer to manual for models). This function can be canceled by pressing ON/OFF, Sleep, Mode, Fan, or Temp buttons.
