Basic Usage Examples

The following diagrams illustrate basic measurement procedures:

DC Voltage Measurement

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to DC Voltage (V=). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The probes are then connected in parallel to the voltage source. The display shows 12.56V.

AC Voltage Measurement

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to AC Voltage (V~). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The probes are then connected in parallel to the AC power source. The display shows 220V.

DC Current Measurement (10A)

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to DC Current (A=) with the 10A range selected. The red probe is connected to the 10A jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The multimeter is connected in series with the circuit. The display shows 150.6mA (Note: The diagram shows mA, but the range is 10A).

Resistance Measurement

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to Resistance (Ω). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The probes are placed across the resistor. The display shows 1005Ω.

Diode Test

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to Diode Test (symbol resembling a diode). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The probes are placed across the diode. The display shows 0.6V.

Capacitance Measurement

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to Capacitance (symbol resembling a capacitor). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The capacitor is connected to the probes. The display shows 35µF.

hFE (Transistor Test)

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to hFE. The transistor is inserted into the hFE socket according to the pinout. The display shows 100.

Temperature Measurement (°C/°F)

Diagram Description: The multimeter is set to Temperature (°C/°F). The red probe is connected to the VΩmA jack, and the black probe to the COM jack. The temperature probe is placed in the environment to be measured. The display shows 25°C.
