Overview of Your Over-ear Headphones
The headphones feature the following controls and indicators:
- 1. ANC/Awareness mode button: Controls Active Noise Cancellation and Awareness modes.
- 2. Multi-Function Button (MFB): Used for play/pause, call control, and voice assistant activation.
- 3. Power button: Turns the headphones on or off.
- 4. LED indicator: Shows charging status, pairing mode, and connection status.
- 5. USB-C charging slot: For charging the headphones.
- 6. 3.5mm Audio jack: For wired connection.
- 7. Mic: Microphone for calls.
Get Started
Charge the Battery
Before first use, charge the battery for 2 hours for optimal capacity and lifetime. Use only the original USB-C cable. Charging takes approximately two hours. The LED indicator turns white while charging and turns off when fully charged.
If the headset is not used for a long time, charge the battery at least once every three months.
App Download
Download the "Philips Headphones" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to customize your sound and calling experience.
Pairing Your Headphones
Pair for the First Time
- Ensure headphones are fully charged and powered off.
- Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LEDs will flash white and blue alternately.
- Turn on the Bluetooth function on your device.
- Select "Philips TAH8000" from your device's Bluetooth list.
- If prompted, enter the password "0000" (for devices below Bluetooth 3.0).
Pair with Another Bluetooth Device
To pair with a second device, turn on the headphones and press the MFB for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode again.
Note: The headphones can store up to 5 paired devices. Older devices are replaced when a new one is added.
Multi-point Connection
Pair the headphones with two devices simultaneously (e.g., a mobile phone and a notebook). You can listen to music from one device and receive calls from the other. Pause audio from one device to play audio from the other.
Note: When streaming from Device 1, a call from Device 2 will pause Device 1 playback and route the call to the headphones. Ending the call resumes playback from Device 1.
Connect via 3.5mm Audio Cable
When the battery is depleted or Bluetooth is unavailable, connect the headphones using the included 3.5mm audio cable.
Use Your Headphones
Connecting to Bluetooth
Turn on your Bluetooth device and then press and hold the Power button on the headphones for 2 seconds. The white LED will illuminate, and the headphones will automatically reconnect to the last connected device.
Tip: If Bluetooth is turned on after the headphones, manual connection via the device's Bluetooth menu may be required.
Power On/Off
- To turn on: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds.
- To turn off: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. The white LED will be on for 3 seconds.
Control ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)
Toggle ANC modes by pressing the ANC/Awareness mode button on the right earcup:
- ANC is automatically activated when headphones are worn.
- Press once to turn ANC off.
- Press again to switch to Awareness mode.
ANC Modes:
- ANC ON: Press button once.
- ANC OFF: Press button once.
- Awareness mode: Press button once.
- Quick Awareness: Press and hold for one second.
Note: ANC works wirelessly via Bluetooth and wired via the 3.5mm jack.
Manage Your Calls and Music
Music Control:
- Play/Pause: Single press MFB.
- Previous Track: Push MFB towards "-" and hold for one second.
- Next Track: Push MFB towards "+" and hold for one second.
- Volume Up: Push MFB towards "+".
- Volume Down: Push MFB towards "-".
Note: A tone indicates when the maximum volume level is reached.
Call Control:
- Pick up call: Single press MFB.
- Hang up/Reject call: Press and hold MFB for 1 second.
Three-Way Calling:
- Hold current call and accept incoming call: Single press MFB.
- Hold current call and reject incoming call: Press and hold MFB for 1 second.
- Switch between second-way call and three-way call: Single press MFB.
Voice Assistant
- Trigger Voice Assistant (Siri/Google): Press MFB twice.
- Stop Voice Assistant: Press MFB once.

Reset the Headphones
If you experience pairing or connection issues, follow these steps to reset the headphones to factory default settings:
- On your Bluetooth device, go to the Bluetooth menu and remove "Philips TAH8000".
- Turn off the Bluetooth function on your device.
- Turn on your headphones.
- Press and hold the Power button and the ANC button simultaneously for 4 seconds.
- Follow the steps in "Use your headphones - Connect the headphones to your Bluetooth device."
- Pair the headphones with your Bluetooth device by selecting "Philips TAH8000".

Remove the Integrated Battery
If no recycling system is available in your country, remove the battery before disposing of the headphones to protect the environment. Ensure the headphone is disconnected before battery removal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Bluetooth headphones do not turn on.
The battery level is low. Charge the headphones.
I cannot pair my Bluetooth headphones with my Bluetooth device.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the headphones are in pairing mode. Refer to the "Pairing Your Headphones" section.
How to reset pairing.
While powered on, press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds until the blue and white LED flashes alternately. This triggers re-pairing mode for switching devices or connecting to a new source device.
I hear but cannot control music on my Bluetooth device (e.g. play/pause/skip forward/backward).
Ensure your Bluetooth audio source supports AVRCP. Refer to 'Technical data' on page 11.
The volume level of the headphones is too low.
Some Bluetooth devices may not sync volume levels. Adjust the volume directly on your Bluetooth device.
The Bluetooth device cannot find the headphones.
The headphones may be connected to a previously paired device. Turn off the other device or move it out of range. Resetting the headphones might also be necessary. Refer to 'Pair the headphones with another Bluetooth device' on page 7.
My Bluetooth headphones are connected to a Bluetooth stereo enabled mobile phone, but music only plays on the mobile phone speaker.
Refer to your mobile phone's user manual to select audio output through the headphones.
The audio quality is poor and crackling noise can be heard.
The Bluetooth device may be out of range. Reduce the distance or remove obstacles. Charge your headphones.
Clean your headphones regularly.
Use a clean, damp cloth to clean the sound conduits and microphone holes, avoiding buildup of sweat or earwax. If water enters the sound conduits, the sound may drop or cut out temporarily. Dry thoroughly with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure headphones are completely dry before charging or use. Avoid alcohol-based cleaning agents.
Charge your headphones regularly.
If not used for a long time, charge the battery at least once every three months.
