HÅLLBAR Waste Sorting System Assembly
This document provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the IKEA HÅLLBAR waste sorting system.
Parts and Hardware
The following parts and hardware are included:
- Frame components (visual description: rectangular frame pieces)
- Internal support bars
- Screws:
- 2x Screw type 100325
- 4x Screw type 109049
- 4x Screw type 107399
- 2x Screw type 131119
Mounting Template
A template is provided for marking drilling points on a surface. Key measurements are: 27 mm, 30 mm, and 32 mm.
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Assemble the Main Frame
Connect the four main frame pieces to form a rectangle. Secure these connections using 4x screws (type 107399). Visual cue: A hand inserting a screw ? into a pre-drilled hole, followed by a "Click!" sound indicating a secure connection.
Step 2: Install Internal Support Bars
Insert the two internal support bars into the assembled frame. Arrows ⬇️ indicate the correct downward placement.
Step 3: Secure Internal Support Bars
Fasten the internal support bars using 4x screws (type 107399) and 4x screws (type 109049).
Step 4: Mount the Frame to a Surface
Position the assembled frame against the desired mounting surface (e.g., cabinet side, wall). Use the provided template to mark drilling locations according to the specified dimensions (27mm, 30mm, 32mm).
Secure the frame to the surface using either:
- 2x screws (type 100325)
- or 2x screws (type 131119)

Step 5: Attach Drawer Runners/Brackets
Attach the drawer runners or mounting brackets to the sides of the frame. This step uses screws to secure these components.
Use 2x screws (type 109049) for attaching some brackets.
Use 2x screws (type 100325) for attaching other brackets or components.

Step 6: Insert Drawer/Bin Mechanism
Slide the inner drawer or bin mechanism components into the attached runners on the frame. Ensure they are properly seated until they click into place.

Step 7: Final Check
