Akuvox E12 Smart Intercom Quick Guide
Unpacking
Before you begin using the device, please check the version you obtained and ensure that the following items are included in the shipped box:

The Akuvox E12 Smart Intercom features the following components:

Installation Environment
Indoor and outdoor installation are supported.
If installing the device outdoors, please do not place the device under direct sunlight, as it may cause a bad effect or damage due to high temperatures.
If installing the device indoors, please keep the device at least 2 meters away from light sources and at least 3 meters away from windows and doors.
Recommended Installation Conditions:
- Backlight ✔️
- Indirect sunlight through window ✔️
Conditions to Avoid:
- Direct sunlight ❌
- Direct sun through window ❌
- Close to light ❌
Installation
Follow these steps for installation:
According to the position of the reserved wires on the wall, stick the wall-mounting template vertically to ensure that the wires can come out of the designated position on the template.
Drill four screw holes (6 mm drill bit required) with a depth of 25mm in the screw holes of the template.
Insert four plastic wall anchors into the drilled holes.
Fix the wall-mounting bracket on the wall by tightening four ST4x20 screws to the plastic wall anchors.
Connect the wires to the interface of the device as needed (refer to "Device Wiring" for details).
After arranging the wires, tighten the back cover using four M3x4 screws to the device.
Hang the device on to the two square hangers on the wall-mounting bracket.
Use the provided Torx Wrench to tighten the bottom of the device with two Torx screws.
The installation is completed. ✔️
Application Network Topology
The Akuvox E12 can be integrated into various network setups:
- SIP Video Phone connected via PoE.
- LAN network connecting multiple devices.
- E12S/W and E12N devices connected via PoE.
- Indoor Monitor connected via PON (Passive Optical Network) and PoE.
- PC (third party) can be connected to the network.
Device Wiring
This section details the device's wiring connections:
- Voltage Transformer: Connects to 12V, GND.
- Power Input: Connects to 12V, GND.
- Door Lock: Connects to NO (Normally Open), COM (Common), NC (Normally Closed).
- Relay Output: Provides output signals.
- Wiegand Input/Output: Connects to GND, WG_01, WG_D0.
- Wiegand Card Reader: Connects to GND, WG_01, WG_D0.
- Exit A Input: Connects to GND, DOOR A.
- Exit B Input: Connects to GND, DOOR B.
Warning: Protection for Coil Devices
When connecting a device with a coil, such as a relay or an electromagnetic lock, it is necessary to protect the intercom against voltage peaks when switching off the inductive load. For this protection, a diode (1 A / 200 V, included in the accessories) connected antiparallel to the device is recommended.
Diode ⚡ connected to Lock Terminals.
IP Announcement
- While the E12 starts up normally, hold the call button for several seconds after the LED light turns blue. The voice system will enter IP announcement mode.
- In announcement mode, the IP address will be announced periodically.
- Press the Call Button again to exit announcement mode.
- In announcement mode, the phone announces "IP 0.0.0.0" if no IP address is gained.
Operation
Make a call:
- Press the call button to call the indoor SIP Phone.
- During the talk, the called party can press a pre-configured code number to unlock the door.
Receive a call:
The E12 supports Auto Answer by default. Incoming calls from the indoor device will be answered automatically.
Configuration
- Access the Web UI: Input the IP address into a web browser to configure the phone.
- Account Registration: On the Web UI, navigate to Account -> Basic page. Register your account and fill in the required information. (Please refer to the user manual for more information).
- Configure the Push Button: On the Web UI, navigate to Intercom -> Basic -> Push Button to configure the call number.
- Configure the code to open the relay: On the Web UI, navigate to Intercom -> Relay&Input -> Relay ID/DTMF and choose the DTMF code number in the corresponding area.
