The Lutron Occupancy Sensing Switch is designed to automate lighting control based on room occupancy, offering energy savings and convenience. It is suitable for various lighting types including LED, CFL, Incandescent, Halogen, and ELV fixtures.
Key Installation Steps
Follow these steps for a successful installation:
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker before beginning.
- Ensure a ground connection is present. Refer to the manual for specific wiring instructions based on whether a neutral wire is available.
- Remove the existing device and connect the sensor switch according to the provided diagrams.
- Mount the switch securely using the provided screws.
- Restore power at the circuit breaker. Note that the switch will have a 2-minute initialization period.
- Configure custom settings if desired, by following the instructions for adjusting sensitivity, timeout, and daylight sensing.
Important Considerations
- This device is intended for indoor use only and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
- Do not use with fan loads or to control receptacles or motor loads.
- Ensure the sensor has an unobstructed view of room occupants for accurate motion detection.
