This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Domyos treadmill. Please read and understand all instructions before operating the equipment.
General Recommendations & Safety
Important Safety Precautions:
- Always consult a doctor before starting any exercise program, especially if you are over 35, have pre-existing health conditions, or haven't exercised in years.
- Set up and operate the treadmill on a solid, level surface.
- Keep children and pets away from the treadmill.
- Stop exercising immediately if you experience dizziness, nausea, chest pain, or any abnormal symptoms.
- Heart rate monitoring systems may be inaccurate; do not overexert yourself.
- This appliance is not intended for use by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.
- Do not use the heart rate belt if you have a pacemaker.
- Only one person should use the treadmill at a time.
- Keep hands and feet away from all moving parts, especially the walking belt.
- Wear appropriate sports shoes and tie laces securely. Avoid loose clothing and jewelry.
- Use caution when mounting or dismounting.
- Wait for the treadmill to stop completely before dismounting.
- Remove and store the safety key in a place inaccessible to children after use.
- For emergency stops, grab the support rails and place feet on the foot rails, or remove the safety key.
- Do not insert objects into the safety key port or covers.
- Avoid pouring liquids onto the console or motor cover.
- Never remove the motor hood; servicing should only be done by authorized technicians.
- Regularly inspect the treadmill for worn or loose components and address them before use.
- Ensure the treadmill is on a flat, stable surface.
- Wait for the belt to stop completely before folding. Do not store in an inclined position when folded.
- Ensure adequate clearance around the treadmill: 200 cm (79 in) at the back and 100 cm (39 in) on each side.
- Keep the power cord away from traffic areas.
- Use a floor protection mat to minimize noise and impact.
- The user is responsible for inspecting and tightening all parts before use. Replace worn or faulty parts immediately.
- Clean any lubricant from the belt surface with a cloth and non-abrasive cleaner if transferred during shipping.
- Always stop the machine using the master switch.
- Disconnect the treadmill from the mains after each use and before any cleaning or maintenance.
Recommendations for Use
Beginner Training: Start with low speed, gradually increasing duration and frequency. Ensure good ventilation.
Fitness/Warm-up: 10 minutes of gradual effort to prepare muscles and joints.
Muscle Tone: Increase incline and duration to target leg muscles.
Aerobic Exercise for Weight Loss: 35-60 minutes of moderate effort, 3+ times a week. Combine with a balanced diet.
Stamina Improvement: 20-40 minutes of sustained effort to strengthen the heart and improve respiratory function. Gradually increase intensity and duration.
Cool Down: Walk slowly for a few minutes after each session to allow the body to recover.
Stretching: Perform stretching exercises after each session to relax muscles and aid recovery.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. Always disconnect power before maintenance.
After Each Use:
- Unplug the treadmill.
- Inspect and tighten all external parts. Replace worn/damaged components immediately.
- Clean the treadmill using a damp cloth with a mild, all-purpose cleaner. Avoid cleaning products under the running belt or ammonia/acid-based cleaners.
- Ensure the running belt is centered and properly tensioned.
Regular Maintenance:
- Lubricating the Running Belt: Lubricate the inner surface of the belt with 5-10ml of silicone every 500 hours or 3000 km (if no silicone traces are present). Run the belt at 4 km/h (2.5 mph) for 10-20 seconds after lubrication. Use only approved lubricants.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Change the running belt every 500 hours of use or 3000 km.
- Inspect the motor and conveyor belt every 600 hours of use or 3600 km.
- Change the rollers every 600 hours of use or 3600 km.
- Change the running deck every 700 hours of use or 4200 km.
Troubleshooting
- Treadmill will not turn on: Check power cord connection, wall socket functionality, and ensure the power cord is fully inserted into the treadmill. Check the main power switch on the frame.
- Treadmill turns off during use: Ensure the power cord is securely connected. If using an extension cord, ensure it's a 3-core, 2.5 mm² cable, no longer than 1.5 m.
- Running belt slows down: Check belt tension. If too tight, performance may decrease. Adjust tension screws as needed.
- Treadmill makes noise:
- Rubbing noise: Check belt centering and tension.
- Grinding noise: Inspect and tighten external parts.
- Running belt is no longer centered: Use color indicators at the back. Adjust left or right tension screws by a quarter turn clockwise or counter-clockwise as needed. Repeat if necessary, being careful not to overtighten.
- Running belt stops while running: The belt may be loose. Re-tighten using the adjustment screws. Ensure you can lift the belt edges 2-3 cm. Be careful not to overtighten.
