LCD Display
FIG 1: LCD Display Elements
The LCD display provides the following information:
- Current Temperature: Displays the current temperature reading.
- Current Humidity: Displays the current humidity reading.
- Min/Max Recordings: Shows the minimum and maximum temperatures recorded since the device was initialized.
- Start/Stop Button: This button is used to start or stop data logging. Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate logging. If the "User Stop Key Enable" feature is active, pressing and holding the button will stop logging preemptively. Note: If the device is stopped using the stop button, it must be reinitialized using the MaxiThermal software before logging can be restarted.
- Alarm Triggered: An indicator that the temperature is within an active alarm state.
- Recording Time (Run Time): Shows the elapsed time since the thermometer logging was initialized or started.
- USB Connection: Port for connecting to a computer.
- Sensor Cover: Protects the sensor.
Programmable User Settings
Using the MaxiThermal software and USB interface, users can program the unit according to their specific requirements. Programmable options include:
- Description: Each Logger-Trac device can be programmed with a unique description, allowing users to identify where the device was used at the time of download.
- Time zone: For accurate time stamping of recorded data.
- Auto Adjust Daylight Time: The internal clock automatically adjusts for daylight saving time shifts.
- Temperature Measurement Units: Data can be displayed in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
- Start delay: A time delay can be set before data recording begins after the user presses the START button.
- Recording duration/Sample Interval: Users can select the data recording interval or the total recording duration. These parameters are dependent on each other, so changing one may affect the other.
- Alarm setting: Maximum and minimum alarm temperature boundaries can be set with a resolution of 1°.
- No alarm: This option disables alarm notifications.
- User Stop Key Enable: This feature allows the user to halt data recording by holding down the START button on the device once recording has begun.
Pre-programmed Settings
All units are factory pre-programmed with the following settings:
- Temperature Units: Celsius (°C)
- Alarm setting: Minimum 2°C, Maximum 8°C
- Recording Duration: 30 days
- User Stop Key Enable: Enabled
How to Start the Data Logger
- Initialize the Logger-Trac using the MaxiThermal software to your desired settings.
- Disconnect the thermometer from the USB cradle.
- When ready to begin recording, press and hold the START button on the front panel for 3 seconds. The LCD will become active and display the current temperature, along with the "REC" symbol, to indicate that logging is active.
- Place the thermometer in the environment to begin monitoring.
How to Stop the Data Logger
- Logging can be stopped in advance of the pre-programmed duration by plugging the thermometer into the USB cradle and selecting "Stop" under the Logger Menu in MaxiThermal software.
- Alternatively, if the "User Stop Key Enable" feature is enabled, the user may stop the thermometer logging by pressing and holding the START button for 3 seconds. The LCD will display the word "END" once logging is stopped.
- Once the device has been stopped, the logged data may be downloaded from the thermometer.
- Logging cannot be restarted until the thermometer has been reinitialized using MaxiThermal software.
How to Replace Battery
On the back of the Data Logger, turn the round plate counterclockwise to open. Replace the battery with a new CR2450 3V Lithium Coin Cell battery. Turn the plate clockwise to lock.
