Probes
6600 Bottle Probe
Sealed in a miniature bottle (1 x 2½ inches) filled with a patented nontoxic glycol. The solution is GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the FDA, eliminating concerns about incidental contact with food or drinking water. It simulates the temperature of other stored liquids.
6601 Stainless-steel Probe
A detachable probe sensor and 10 feet of cable. Sensor Type: RTD.
Note: Calibration data is stored in the probe. When calibration is due, replace the probe or send it for re-calibration.
Device Power Supply
Powered by an external AC Adaptor. An indicator appears on the LCD when the adaptor is plugged in and disappears when removed. In case of power outage, the device automatically switches to backup battery. Data is stored internally and not posted to the cloud server while on backup battery. Upon AC adaptor reconnection, stored data is posted.
A low battery indicator appears on the LCD when the backup battery is low.
LCD Backlight
The LCD features an LED backlight for improved viewing. The backlight turns on when any button is pressed. If an AC adaptor is plugged in, it stays on for 2 minutes after the last button press. If powered by backup battery, it turns off after 30 seconds of inactivity. Pressing any button will turn on the backlight without executing the button's function until the backlight is on.
Network Connectivity
The device connects to a network via an RJ-45 Ethernet port. An indicator appears on the display when connected and disappears when disconnected. A flashing indicator signifies data transmission failure to the cloud server. A connected device has an active link to the cloud server, even if connected to a router but not actively communicating.
Data Transmission to Cloud Server
Once connected to the network, data is transmitted over Ethernet at user-defined intervals (set during device setup). The default interval is 15 minutes and cannot be changed on the device.
A flashing indicator appears if data transmission fails for the first time. Data can be stored internally for up to 7 days at 15-minute intervals. Full memory overwrites the oldest data. Memory can only be cleared by successful data transmission to the cloud server.
Note: Transmission retries occur at 10-second intervals (total 3 trials). If all retries fail, it counts as one transmission failure. During retries, the device does not update temperature readings or timestamps.
Note: While on backup battery, data is not posted to the cloud server but continues to be stored internally.
Second Line Display on LCD
The second line of the LCD scrolls through information every 3 seconds in the following order: current minimum, current maximum, alarm setting minimum, alarm setting maximum, and back to current minimum. Pressing the [Pause] button pauses scrolling; pressing it again resumes. Pressing the [Forward] button moves to the next item or allows fast scrolling. Pressing [Pause] again after fast scrolling will pause the display.
Displaying Device Information
Probe Calibration Expiration Date and Serial Number (S/N)
- In normal mode, press the SEL button once.
- The probe's calibration expiration date is displayed.
- Press the [Forward] button within 10 seconds to view the probe's serial number. The LCD returns to normal display after 10 seconds or if the [Forward] button is pressed.
Clear Current Min/Max Readings
Press the CLEAR button to clear current Min/Max readings. These values are not stored in internal memory. An Alarm event will be posted to the cloud server immediately.
Device MAC Address and IP Address
- Ensure the AC Adaptor is plugged in.
- In normal mode, press and hold SEL and [Pause] buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- If the AC Adaptor is not plugged in, "no AC" is displayed.
- If the AC Adaptor is plugged in, the first 4 bytes of the MAC address are shown. Press [Forward] to scroll to the next 2 bytes.
- Press [Forward] again. If connected to the network, the first 2 numbers of the IP address are displayed. If not connected, "000.000" is shown.
- Press [Forward] again to display the next 2 numbers of the IP address.
- The display returns to normal after 10 seconds of inactivity or if the [Forward] button is pressed.
- If an error occurs, "Err" is displayed.
Device Firmware Version
In normal mode, press and hold C/F and [Pause] buttons for approximately 3 seconds. The first line displays "rxx" (firmware version), and the second line displays "Cxx" (MCU restart cause code). The display returns to normal after 10 seconds or if the [Forward] button is pressed.
Alarms
When an alarm is triggered, the temperature reading and either the LOW ALM or HI ALM symbol flash, accompanied by an audible alarm. The second line of the LCD freezes. Pressing the CLEAR button stops flashing and beeping, and the second line resumes scrolling. An alarm event is posted to the cloud server immediately. If transmission fails after 3 attempts, the alarm is stored internally.
Low Battery Alarm
The device checks battery level every 2 hours. If below a threshold, a low battery notification appears (user-adjustable). The BATT_LOW symbol is displayed on the LCD, and a BATT_LOW alarm is posted to the server if connected. This alarm is posted every 3 days until the battery is replaced. It is recommended to replace batteries yearly, even if the device is AC powered.
Low Battery Power Indicator
The unit uses 3 AAA alkaline batteries. If battery power drops to 20% or lower, a low battery symbol appears on the display, and an alert is sent via TraceableLIVE.
Device Holder
A holder is supplied, which can be affixed to magnetic surfaces or walls using screws (not supplied).
Troubleshooting and Operational Difficulties
If the thermometer does not function properly, replace the battery with a new high-quality AAA alkaline battery. Low battery power can cause operational issues. If the battery voltage is low, the °C and °F symbols will flash.
Battery Replacement
Erratic readings, a faint display, or no display indicate the battery needs replacement. Slide the battery cover towards the end of the unit, remove the old battery, insert a new AAA alkaline battery, and replace the cover.
Regulatory Compliance
