1. Installation Guide
Step-by-step installation instructions for your smart lock.

Note: If the knob does not unlock the door, or if only the key unlocks the door, please pull the key first. Reinstall the smart lock by adjusting the flat ruler 90/180 degrees to ensure it is horizontal. This will allow the App or passcode to unlock/lock the door. Please check this video for details.

2. Remote Unlock via App

3. Adjusting the Deadbolt Depth

5. Resetting Your Smart Lock
To reset the lock, locate the reset button under the inside dock. Remove one battery, then reinsert it. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until you hear a "DiDi" sound. The smart lock will then be reset.

6. Setting Custom Passcodes
Click "Generate Passcode" → "Custom". Name your code and set a 4-9 digit length.

7. Generating Guest Passcodes
You can generate permanent, timed, or one-time custom passcodes for guests.

8. Auto-Lock Time Configuration
Set the auto-lock time by navigating to Settings → Auto Lock → Current Setting → Custom, and enter your desired time. The door lock will automatically lock after 180 seconds (3 minutes) if not otherwise specified.

9. Alexa Voice Control
Enable Alexa to unlock your door. Check the video for setup instructions on the App and Voice button, and remember your voice code.

12. Disabling Touch Unlock
Turn off the touch-to-unlock button. When the touch button is active, touching the keypad unlocks the door.

13. Admin and Authorized User Setup
Create an administrator and authorize other users, such as your spouse, to control the same lock. Ensure you enter the phone number in the format: +1XXXXXXXXXX (including the country code). The authorized user needs to download the Hornbill app, register an account with their phone number, and log in to control the lock.

14. Remote Door Lock/Unlock
To remotely unlock your door, click the small button near the main lock. To remotely lock your door, long-press the main lock button.

Door Handle Installation Adjustment
Proper adjustment is crucial for correct operation based on your door's handle orientation.
A. For Left-Handle Doors
If your door has a left-side handle:
- On the back assembly, adjust the toggle button to "L".
- Ensure the knob is in a horizontal position when the deadbolt is in the unlocked status.
B. For Right-Handle Doors
If your door has a right-side handle:
- On the back assembly, adjust the toggle button to "R".
- Ensure the knob is in a vertical position when the deadbolt is in the unlocked status.
