Product Overview

Front View

The front of the lock features:

  • Keypad: Numeric buttons (0-9, *, #).
  • Fingerprint Sensor: Located above the keypad.
  • Keyhole: For mechanical key access.
  • USB-C Port: Located on the side, used for temporary power supply if batteries run out.

Rear View

The rear of the lock features:

  • Battery Cover: Located at the top.
  • Knob: For manual operation.
  • Double Locking Button: For enhanced security.
  • Reset Button: Located on the interior assembly.

Preparation

Check Your Door Dimensions

Ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Cross bore diameter: 54 mm (2.13 inches).
  • Backset: 60/70 mm (2.36 / 2.76 inches).
  • Door thickness: 38 to 48 mm (1.5 - 1.89 inches).
  • Edge bore diameter: 24 mm (0.94 inch).

Installation

Step 1: Install the Deadbolt

If your door has a 60mm/23/8" backset, install the deadbolt without adjustments. For doors with a 70mm/23/4" backset, extend the deadbolt by rotating the cover upwards and pulling it, then rotate the cover downwards to lock it.

Insert the retracted deadbolt with the word "UP" and the up arrow facing upwards. Screw the deadbolt with a screwdriver (not provided).

Step 2: Install the Strike Plate

Insert the strike plate into the strike box on the door frame and secure it with strike screws.

Parts Required: Strike Plate, Strike box, Strike Screws, Screwdriver.

Step 3: Install the Exterior Assembly

Place the spindle horizontally before inserting it. Turn the spindle to test deadbolt extension/retraction. Keep the spindle horizontal and pass the cable under the deadbolt. Note: Keep the deadbolt retracted (unlocked) and do not insert keys during installation.

Ensure correct alignment when attaching the exterior assembly.

Step 4: Install the Mounting Plate

Pass the spindle through the central hole and the cable through the bottom hole. Screw the mounting plate firmly, ensuring proper alignment.

Note: Keep the exterior assembly straight when installing the mounting plate.

Parts Required: Mounting plate, Mounting Plate Screws, Screwdriver.

Step 5: Install the Interior Assembly

Plug the cable into the port and secure the connector. Ensure the door handing is correct (left or right hinge) and turn the knob to horizontal (left-handed door) or vertical (right-handed door).

Tighten the screws into the interior assembly.

Parts Required: Interior Assembly, Interior Assembly Screws, Screwdriver.

Step 6: Insert the Batteries

Note: Only use new, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.

Slide the cover up, insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, and slide the cover back into place.

Test the Lock

  1. Keep the door open.
  2. Turn the knob several times to check if the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly.

Using the App

1. Create an Account

For Android: Search "Smart Life" on Google Play. For iOS: Search "Smart Life" on the App store. Sign up and log in using an email address.

2. Pair Your Phone with the Smart Lock

Step 1: Press any key to wake up the lock, then tap "Add Device". Step 2: Add the discovered lock. Step 3: Name the lock and tap "Done".

3. Choose the Door Opening Direction

Navigate to Settings → Motor Direction → Choose Left / Right. Face the door from the outside. If the hinge is on the left, your door is left-handed. If the hinge is on the right, your door is right-handed.

4. Change the Admin Passcode

Once paired, the default admin passcode (123456) is invalid. Go to Member Management → Admin → Add Code. Enter a 6-8 digit password and set a code name.

5. APP Homepage Overview

The app homepage displays:

  • Double Locking On/Off status.
  • Tap to check more details.
  • Lock Status.
  • Lock Activities.
  • Options to set and manage custom passcodes.

You can set passcodes and fingerprints for admin and family members. Receive notifications for family arrivals or lock alarms. Check and change lock settings by swiping.

(1) Temporary Code

To set/manage a custom code, your phone must be within 5 meters of the lock if it's not paired with a gateway. Passwords are invisible once set for security.

You can check, delete, change, and rename custom passcodes.

(2) Set Fingerprints (up to 50)

Tap Member Management → Admin → Add Fingerprint, then follow on-screen instructions.

For the lock to better recognize your fingerprints: Ensure the fingerprint sensor and your finger are clean and dry. Place your finger on the sensor and move it around to capture different parts.

(3) Auto Lock & Remote Unlock

  • Auto Lock Delay: Go to Settings → Auto Lock Delay to change the interval (5s-30min).
  • Remote Unlock: Go to Settings → Remote Unlock (Gateway Required).

(4) Add Member

The home owner taps Me → Home Management → Your Home → Add Member, then sends the invitation code. The recipient taps Me → Home Management → Join a Home and enters the code. Family roles can be changed:

  • Common member: Use device, use smart setting.
  • Administrator: Manage device and room, manage smart setting, manage member.

Basic Operations

Unlock the Door

Choose from the following options:

  1. Press a key to light up the keypad, enter your passcode, and press # to confirm.
  2. Unlock with fingerprint.
  3. Use the mechanical key.
  4. Unlock via the Smart Life App.
  5. Unlock with voice commands using Alexa or Google Home (Gateway Required).
  6. Remote unlock via App (if paired with gateway).

Lock the Door

Choose from the following options:

  1. Press the # key to light up the keypad, then press and hold # for 2 seconds.
  2. Use the mechanical key.
  3. Lock via the Smart Life App.
  4. Enable auto-lock in the App; the door locks automatically after the set time.
  5. Remote lock via App (if paired with gateway).

How to Reset the Lock

Method A:

  • Press a key to light up the keypad, remove one battery, wait 3 seconds, and reinsert it. The keypad will light up blue.
  • Press and hold the double locking button until a short beep is heard and the keypad flashes blue. Enter code 000#; the lock will emit a long beep and the keypad will flash green, indicating reset is complete.

Method B:

  • Unscrew the back panel, then press the reset button until two short beeps and one long beep are heard. The keypad flashes green, indicating reset is complete.

Note: Keep the cable connected and batteries properly installed.

Smart Home Integration

Enable the Gateway

For remote control, add the lock to the App first, then follow these steps:

  1. Plug in the gateway. The blue indicator should be solid, and the red indicator should flash slowly. (If not, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds).
  2. Add the Gateway to the App. Once added, the red indicator stops flashing and remains solid.
  3. Pair the gateway with your smart lock.

Notes:

  • Only 2.4GHz WiFi networks are supported. The Gateway enables remote control via the Smart Life App.
  • For best performance, place the Gateway within 5m/16ft of the smart lock and router.

Enable the Amazon Alexa (Gateway Required)

Step 1: Ensure the lock and gateway are paired, then enable "Remote Unlock" in the lock Settings. Step 2: Tap Me → Alexa, then follow on-screen instructions to complete setup. Step 3: In the Alexa App, enable "Unlock by App" and "Unlock by voice" for your lock. You may need to provide a voice confirmation code.

Enable the Google Home (Gateway Required)

Step 1: Pair the Gateway with the lock first, then enable "Remote Voice Unlock" and set a 4-6 digit security code. Google will ask for this code when unlocking via voice commands. Step 2: Tap Me → Google Assistant, then follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.

FAQs

  • How to lock or unlock the door? Refer to the Basic Operations section (Page 18).
  • How can I share access to the lock with my family and friends? Refer to the "Add Member" section (Page 17).
  • How to set/change the Admin passcode? Go to Member Management → Admin → Code. Ensure Bluetooth is on and your phone is within 5 meters of the lock.
  • How to enter the passcode on the keypad? Press a key to light up the keypad, then enter the passcode and press the # key.
  • Can the lock sound be muted? Yes, go to Settings → Lock Volume → Mute.
  • How to prevent prying eyes? Add extra digits before or after your real passcode.
  • How to double lock your door? Press and hold the double locking button for 3 seconds. The lock emits two beeps.
  • How to cancel double locking? Short press the double locking button or unlock the door using the knob, app, admin passcode, or mechanical key.
  • How to enable remote unlock? First, add the gateway to the Smart Life App and pair your lock. Then, on the App homepage, go to Settings → Turn on Remote Unlock & Remote Voice Unlock.
