1. Precauciones

1.1 Important Warning

The lightning symbol with an arrow indicates the presence of dangerous voltage within the apparatus, which may pose a risk of electric shock.

The exclamation mark symbol indicates important operation and maintenance instructions.

WARNING (If applicable): Terminals marked with the symbol "⚡" may carry sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. External wiring connected to the terminals must be installed by qualified personnel or use pre-made cables.

WARNING: To prevent electric shock or fire risk, do not expose this equipment to rain or humidity.

WARNING: Class I construction apparatus must be connected via a grounded plug.

WARNING: Ecler products have a long service life, over 10 years. This product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste under any circumstances. Take it to the nearest electrical and electronic waste treatment center.

1.2 Important Safety Instructions

6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install according to the manufacturer's instructions.
8. Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other heat-producing apparatus, including amplifiers.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type power cord. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The third prong is for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit your outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being pinched, especially at the plugs, receptacles, and the point where it exits the apparatus.
11. Use only attachments specified by the manufacturer.
12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
14. Power disconnection: turning the POWER switch off stops all functions and indicators, but complete disconnection is achieved by unplugging the power cord from its connector. This connector must always be easily accessible.
15. The equipment connects to a grounded outlet via the power cord.
16. Part of the product labeling is located on the bottom of the unit.
17. This apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.

1.3 Cleaning

To clean the apparatus, use only a soft, dry cloth or one slightly dampened with water and a neutral liquid detergent, then dry it with a clean cloth. Ensure that water never enters the apparatus through any opening. Never use alcohol, benzine, solvents, or abrasive substances.

2. Warranty and Environmental Information

Thank you for choosing our Ecler KICK-SB28 equipment! To achieve maximum operability and performance, it is VERY IMPORTANT to carefully read and keep in mind the considerations specified in this manual before connecting it.

For optimal performance, we recommend that maintenance be carried out by our authorized Technical Services.

4. Description and Characteristics

The KICK-SB28 is a wooden subwoofer with 700 WRMS @ 4Ω, designed for outdoor installation thanks to its IP46 rating. Its versatility allows for horizontal or vertical placement, including wall mounting with the included support. It features two 8" woofers positioned to maximize low-frequency response while reducing vibrations within the acoustic enclosure.

4.1 Main Characteristics

• Passive outdoor subwoofer: 700W RMS @ 4Ω.
• 2x8" woofers with water-resistant treatment.
• Vibration-free operation.
• 18mm birch plywood enclosure with polyurea coating.
• Weather protected with IP46 classification.
• Rubber feet included for floor installation (vertical or horizontal).
• Wall support included for wall mounting.

5. Connections

The connection cable between the amplifier outputs and the speakers should be of good quality, with sufficient gauge, and as short as possible. This is especially important for long distances and low impedance loads (4Ω). For distances up to 10m, a gauge of at least 2.5 mm² is recommended, and for longer distances, 4 or 6 mm². A simple way to determine the required gauge, assuming approximately 4% loss, is using the following formula:

Cable Gauge (mm²) = Length (m) / Speaker Impedance (Ω)

Always respect polarity. The speaker includes a Speakon® 4C connector.

5.1 Connection Diagram

Step 1: Remove the cover.

Step 2: Connect the Speakon® 4C.

Step 3: Replace the cover. Choose whether to place it on the bottom or side depending on how you wish to install the unit.

6. Equalization Settings

Download the Ecler Loudspeakers EQ Settings file, ready to import into the EclerNet Manager software.

7. Recommended Amplifier

The recommended amplifier output power for the KICK-SB28 is 1400W RMS.

8. Location and Installation

8.1 Location

As general rules, observe the following:

Place the speakers on a solid and firm surface. Subwoofers placed directly and horizontally on the floor have greater output than when hung or placed vertically on the floor. Obstructions should not be placed between the enclosures and the audience.

8.2 Installation

8.2.1 Horizontal Mounting

Step 1: Remove the supports.

Step 2: Attach the four rubber feet (supplied) to the side of the unit.

The logo can be rotated as needed.

8.2.2 Vertical Mounting

Attach the four rubber feet (supplied) to the base of the unit.

The logo can be rotated as needed.

8.2.3 Wall Mounting

Step 1: Attach the wall support to the wall (anchors and screws not supplied).

The logo can be rotated as needed.
