User Manual
1. Safety Precautions
Important Preliminary Note: Read and follow all instructions carefully.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Read this manual thoroughly.
- Keep this manual for future reference.
- Heed all warning notices.
- Follow all instructions.
- Do not use the device near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked. Install according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not place near heat sources like radiators, ovens, or other heat-generating equipment (including amplifiers).
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of a polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades of different widths. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The third prong is for your safety. If the supplied plug does not fit your outlet, consult a qualified electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
- Ensure the power cord is not pinched, twisted, or walked on, especially near plugs, receptacles, and the point where it exits the device.
- Use only manufacturer-specified accessories.
- Disconnect the device from the mains during thunderstorms or when unused for extended periods.
- Have servicing performed only by qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as damage to the power cord or plug, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- Power Supply Disconnection: Turning off the device via the POWER switch interrupts all functions and indicator lights. However, to completely disconnect the device from the mains, the power cord must be unplugged from the mains socket. This socket must always be easily accessible.
- The device is connected to a grounded mains socket via a power cord.
- The data plate is located on the lower part of the device.
- Protect the device from dripping or splashing water and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on it.
Cleaning: Clean the device only with a soft, dry cloth or one slightly dampened with water and mild liquid soap. Ensure no liquid enters the device through any openings. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
NEEC AUDIO BARCELONA, S.L. is not liable for any damage to persons, animals, or objects resulting from failure to comply with the above warnings.

4. Description and Features
The KICK-SB28 is a wooden subwoofer enclosure with long-term reliability, rated IP46 weather-resistant, with 700 WRMS at 4Ω. Its versatility allows placement in horizontal or vertical positions, and it can also be installed on a wall using the included bracket. It features two 8" woofers positioned to maximize low-frequency response while reducing vibrations within the acoustic enclosure.
4.1 Key Features
- Passive subwoofer for outdoor use with 700 W RMS.
- 2x8" woofers with water-resistant cones.
- Vibration-free operation.
- 18mm Birch Plywood enclosure with Polyurea coating.
- IP46 rated weather resistance.
- Rubber feet for floor placement (vertical or horizontal) are included.
- Wall mounting bracket is included.
5. Connection
The connection cable linking the amplifier outputs to the speakers must be of high quality, with adequate cross-section, and as short as possible. This is particularly important when bridging large distances and the load is low (4Ω): up to 10m, a cable with a minimum cross-section of 2.5mm² is recommended. For longer cable runs, a cross-section of 4 to 6mm² is recommended. An easy method to determine the necessary cross-section is to apply the following formula, accepting losses of approximately 4%:
Cross-section in mm² = (Length in m * Impedance of the speaker in Ω) / 100
Important: Always pay attention to polarity. The speaker has a Speakon® 4C connector.
A detailed connection diagram is provided on the next page.
5.1 Connection Diagram
Step 1: Remove the cover.
Step 2: Connect the Speakon® 4C cable.
Step 3: Reattach the cover. You can choose to attach the cover to the bottom or side, depending on how you wish to position the device.
6. Equalizer Settings
Download the Ecler Loudspeakers EQ Settings, which can be imported into the EclerNet Manager software.
7. Recommended Amplifiers
The recommended amplifier output power for the KICK-SB28 is 1400W RMS.
8. Placement and Installation
8.1 Placement
Observe the following general rules:
Place the speaker on a stable and firm surface. Subwoofers placed directly and horizontally on the floor have higher output than those hung or placed vertically on the floor. There should be no obstacles between the speakers and the audience.
