This portable lamp has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.

Congratulations on purchasing your new OttLite® product, featuring the finest in natural lighting technology.
The OttLite 13W Folding Task Lamp is a compact and versatile lighting solution. It features a rectangular base (A), a foldable arm, and a rectangular shade (B) that houses the light tube (D). A hinge nut (C) allows for adjustment of the shade's position.
WARNING: To prevent electric shock, make sure the lamp is not plugged in until all assembly steps are complete.
Lamp Assembly
- Remove the lamp from its packing and place the lamp body (A) base flat on a steady surface.
- Refer to the "Tube Installation and Replacement" section to install the tube (D) in the lamp.
- Plug the cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.
- To turn the lamp on, raise the shade (B). To turn the lamp off, lower the shade (B).
- As needed to keep the shade (B) in place, a coin can be used to tighten or loosen either hinge nut (C). Do not overtighten or the lamp may be damaged.
Tube Installation and Replacement
DO NOT allow the glass part of the bulb to strike any hard surface as it may break.
- Make sure that the lamp is not plugged into an electrical socket.
- If the lamp has been in use, allow it to cool approximately 5 minutes before proceeding.
- To install the tube (D), place the tube base loosely in the socket; align the tube (D) flat within the shade then press the tube base into the socket. The tube (D) should 'snap' into place. Give a slight tug on the tube to confirm it is held by the socket.
- To remove a tube (D) already installed in the lamp, grasp the tube firmly, angle it down slightly, then pull it from the socket.
Note: In operation, OttLite® tubes are not dimmable.

This lighting system is designed for use with OttLite® Type B tubes (Style Number PL13-E). Use of other products voids the warranty and may result in damage to the lighting system.
