XZENT X-F270 Infotainer Installation Guide for Fiat Ducato Series 8
This document provides detailed mounting instructions for the XZENT X-F270 Infotainer and the N-XFDUC8 mounting frame, specifically designed for the Fiat Ducato Series 8.
Important Information
CAUTION: Installation should be performed by an authorized dealer. Incorrect installation can damage the vehicle and the XZENT system. Only use XZENT original accessories. Do not modify any part of the system.
NOTE: The vehicle must be factory-equipped with radio preparation. The XZENT system is not compatible with vehicles that have an OE radio or OE navigation system. This guide applies to compatible vehicle platforms as offered by the manufacturer. Deviations in equipment or specific adjustments by motorhome manufacturers are not covered. For questions, contact the relevant manufacturer.
The XZENT system features an integrated DAB+ receiver. A suitable DAB antenna (not included) is required. If your vehicle has an OE DAB antenna, a FAKRA > SMB adapter is needed. For optimal radio reception, an active antenna system (FM/DAB) is recommended. If your vehicle has a resistor-based multifunction steering wheel, no additional accessories are needed for steering wheel remote control functions.
Software updates are installed via USB. Ensure the USB connection remains accessible after installation. For any questions or issues, contact your dealer.

- Phillips screwdriver
- Dismantling tool (See step 2.)
Demontage und Vorbereitung (Removal Work and Preparation)
- Remove the two storage compartments as per the manufacturer's instructions.
- Remove ventilation outlets (left and right) using appropriate tools.
- Remove the 4 Torx screws and take out the original plastic holder frame.
Step A: Mount the N-XFDUC8 mounting frame using the 4 included M5 x 6mm screws.
Step B: Push the N-XFDUC8 mounting frame onto the back of the X-F270 device.
Step C: Secure the frame to the device using two M5 x 6mm screws on the left and right sides.
Installation
- Connect all cables routed into the radio slot and the original antenna cable to the XZENT system. Additional adapters or radioswitch may be required depending on the vehicle's features.
- Fit the GPS antenna (No. 14) in a suitable location, ensuring GPS reception is not affected by shadowing (e.g., from metallic parts or thermal glazing). Run the connecting cable to the radio slot.
- If using the external microphone (No. 9), mount it and run the cable to the radio slot. Adjust the microphone source in the device menu for Bluetooth mode.
- Run the USB extension cable (No. 17) from the radio slot to your desired location.
- OPTIONAL: If your car has a resistor-based multifunction steering wheel, connect the SWC adapter (No. 12) to the main connection cable (No. 11) and the vehicle's 20-pin connector. Change the SWC ASSIGNMENT in the XZENT system settings to MODE 2. Telephony buttons may require an additional CAN interface.
- Connect the main cable (No. 11) of the XZENT system (No. 1) to the vehicle's ISO connectors.
- When using a reversing camera, connect the reversing signal from the vehicle to the reverse connection of the XZENT system for automatic switching.
- Connect the handbrake signal to the 'Parking' input to enable video playback when stationary. ATTENTION: Video playback while driving is prohibited by law and will be blocked.
- Carefully slide the XZENT system with the mounted frame into the radio slot until it engages. Attention! Do not use the 2-part metal mounting frame (No. 3) for Series 8.
- Fasten the mounting frame with the original 4 Torx screws.
- Insert the ventilation outlets back into place.
Commissioning
Ensure all rear connectors have sufficient space and are not bent. For vehicles with an original FIAT active antenna, ensure power supply. Connect the P.ANT lead of the main connection cable (No. 11) together. Secure connectors without retaining mechanisms with insulating tape.
Commissioning: Ensure the vehicle is outdoors for optimal GPS reception. Insert the navigation software SD card into the XZENT system's SD card slot and start the system to establish a satellite fix. Keep the vehicle stationary until the fix is established (approx. 3-5 minutes). Press the NAV button, select map view, and confirm your current location. Perform a general functional test and basic settings. Ensure no fault warnings appear on the vehicle.
