SR65 rH 902 MHz
Wireless sensor for detection of temperature and relative humidity
Datasheet
Subject to technical alteration
Issue date: 24/07/2025
Application
Description of use: Wireless sensor for detection of temperature and rel. humidity in outdoor areas, cold stores, greenhouses, production plants, and warehouses. Features self-powered EnOcean wireless technology. Configuration via airConfig. Intended for use in automation solutions for functional buildings. Transmits sensor data unencrypted over short distances. Does not communicate directly with the Internet. Automation stations forwarding data via the Internet must ensure encryption.
Security Advice – CAUTION
⚠️ The installation and assembly of the device should only be performed by authorized personnel.
The product should only be used for its intended application. Unauthorized modifications are prohibited. Do not use with equipment that could threaten human health or life in case of failure. Ensure all power is disconnected before installing. Do not connect to live/operating equipment.
Compliance:
- Local laws, health & safety regulations, technical standards and regulations
- Condition of the device at the time of installation for safe installation
- This data sheet and installation manual
Notes on Disposal
?️ The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicates that the product or removable batteries must not be disposed of with household or commercial waste. Within the EU, disposal must be separate and appropriate according to national laws. Contact your supplier or Thermokon Sensortechnik GmbH for assistance. Guidelines for Devices with Solar Energy Storage
The "EasySens" wireless sensors utilize energy-optimized EnOcean radio technology, allowing them to work without batteries and self-charge via integrated solar cells, making them maintenance-free and environmentally friendly.
For optimal use, mount the device in a location with sufficient ambient brightness (minimum 200 lx for at least 3-4 hours daily). The solar cell should face towards a window if possible. Avoid direct sun radiation if the device has a temperature sensor to prevent false readings.
Ensure the mounting position is not obstructed by future placement areas, furniture, or cupboards.
If stored in darkness, the internal solar energy storage may need recharging, which typically occurs automatically during commissioning or initial startup in ambient light. Full operating state may take 3-4 days with sufficient illumination. Battery backup options are available for darker rooms (<100 lx).
Battery operating time depends on transmission frequency, component aging, and self-discharge. Standard operating time with batteries is several years. Switching to battery operation is automatic when a battery is added.
Application Notice for Humidity Sensors
Refrain from touching the sensitive humidity sensor/element; doing so will void the warranty.
Re-calibration is recommended annually for standard environmental conditions to maintain accuracy.
Exposure to high ambient temperature, humidity, or aggressive gases (chlorine, ozone, ammonia) may affect the sensor element, potentially requiring earlier re-calibration. Re-calibration and sensor deterioration due to environmental conditions are not covered by the general warranty.

Configuration with airConfig
airConfig is not needed if default settings are used. airConfig and an EnOcean USB transceiver (e.g., USB300C) are mandatory for changing default EEP and other settings.
Device Information: Provides information regarding the Energy status of the device. Energy status must be OK or a battery must be inserted to configure the device.
EEP Selection: Click the drop-down menu to choose the desired measuring range. Byte values for temperature are shown below. Attention: Only operate the sensor within the specified measuring range.
Change of value: Defines the minimal temperature change required since the last transmission to send a new telegram.
Temperature/Humidity Offset: Set for individual adjustment.
Wake-up time: Defines the measuring interval.
Heartbeat cycle: Defines the maximum number of wake-ups without transmitting temperature between transmissions. Receivers monitor this interval to detect missing sensor signals.
Configuration Process
To send new settings: Right-click the device icon and select "send configuration". The sensor, which is in sleep mode, needs to be woken up by pressing the LRN button.
Successful transfer is indicated by the sensor highlighting in green. Red highlighting indicates a transmission problem.
Note: Frequent wake-ups, measurements, and data transmissions consume more energy, potentially leading to insufficient energy charge from ambient illumination.
Mounting Advice
When mounting outdoors, protect the device against direct sun or rain. Use a protective cover if necessary.
Incorrect Mounting Examples: ❌ Device exposed to direct sun. ❌ Device exposed to rain. ❌ Device obstructed.
Correct Mounting Example: ✔️ Device mounted in a protected, well-lit location.
Dimensions (MM)
