1. What's in the Box

NOTE: Micro SD card and power adapter are not included.

The package typically contains:

  • A ZUMIMALL P8 video doorbell unit.
  • A wireless chime unit.
  • A Quick User Guide booklet.

  • A set of mounting screws and a small screwdriver tool.
  • Two adhesive strips (3M Tape) for mounting.

2. Meet the Doorbell

The ZUMIMALL video doorbell features the following components:

  • FHD Optical Lens: High-definition camera lens.
  • PIR Motion Sensor: Detects motion.
  • LED Indicator: Shows device status.
  • Doorbell Button: The button to press for visitors.
  • Speaker: For audio output.
  • Safety Screw: Secures the doorbell.
  • Microphone: For audio input.
  • Li-ion Battery Built-in: Internal rechargeable battery.
  • Reset Key: Used to reset the device.
  • Charging Indicator: Shows charging status.
  • Charge Port: For connecting the charging cable.
  • Micro SD Card Slot: For local video storage.

3. Meet the Chime

The wireless chime has the following parts:

  • Ringtone button: To select ringtones.
  • Indicator light: Shows chime status.
  • Battery Slots: For AAA batteries.
  • Horn: Produces the chime sound.
  • Connection/Volume Button: Long press to link the doorbell, short press to change the volume (5 levels of volume adjustments).

4. Download and Install App

Download the ZUMIMALL App from Google Play™ or App Store™. Alternatively, scan the provided QR codes with your smartphone.

NOTE: Google Play™ is a trademark of Google Inc. App Store™ is a service mark of Apple Inc.

App Permissions:

Please ensure the following permissions are enabled for the ZUMIMALL App:

  1. Allow ZUMIMALL App to access mobile cellular data and wireless LAN. Failure to do so may prevent the camera from connecting.
  2. Allow ZUMIMALL App to receive pushed messages. Otherwise, the phone will not receive alarms when motion is detected.

The app interface will show options for managing wireless data usage and notification settings.

5. Account Registration

New users must sign up for a ZUMIMALL App account using an email address. Click 'Sign up' and follow the on-screen steps to complete registration.

The registration process typically involves:

  1. Entering account details on the Welcome screen.
  2. Providing email and password on the Sign Up screen.
  3. Confirming registration details.

6. Add Camera to App

6.1 Preparations for connection

  • Insert a Micro SD Card into the camera to save video clips. Alternatively, you can use the 7-day free cloud service. Without a Micro SD Card or cloud service, no video will be saved.
  • The Doorbell only works with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi; it does not support 5GHz.
  • When connecting to the network, please place the Doorbell close to the router (Recommended within 10-15ft).

6.2 Connect Camera to App

Follow these steps to connect your doorbell to the app:

  1. Tap 'Add Device' on the app's home screen.
  2. Select 'Smart Doorbell' from the device list.
  3. Turn on the camera device as per instructions.
  4. Press the doorbell button and tap 'Next' to proceed.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi password for the 2.4GHz network. Ensure the password is correct and does not contain special characters that might cause issues.
  6. Prepare for scanning: Remove any protective film from the lens. The app will display a QR code. Position your phone's screen with the QR code 5-8 inches from the doorbell's lens. A tone will be heard when successfully scanned.
  7. The app will then search for the device, register it to the cloud, and initialize it.
  8. The app may perform a network diagnosis to check Wi-Fi signal strength and provide installation tips.
  9. Once the process reaches 100%, the installation is finished.

7. Wireless Chime Connection

  1. Power on the wireless chime: Remove the AAA battery protective film and insert AAA batteries into the chime, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The AAA battery is not rechargeable.
  2. Link the chime: Long press the Connection/Volume Button on the chime. The indicator light will flash blue, indicating it is ready to link.
  3. Pair with doorbell: Within 5 seconds after completing step 2, short press the button of the video doorbell to link. The chime will sound, confirming a successful connection. Ensure the doorbell and chime are close to each other during this process.

Chime Settings

  1. To change the volume of the wireless chime, short press the Connection/Volume Button.
  2. To change the ringtone, short press the Ringtone button.

Tips:

  • You can link unlimited chimes to one video doorbell, and vice versa.
  • Long press the Connection/Volume button to get the chime ready to link or to disconnect it from the connected video doorbell.

8. Install the Video Doorbell

  1. Take off the mounting bracket from the video doorbell.
  2. Mount the bracket on the wall:
    • Option 1: Mark the screw holes and mount the bracket on your wall using the provided screws.
    • Option 2: Use the adhesive stickers, which are very sturdy. Note that the adhesive stickers take approximately 1 hour to reach half of the maximum bond strength and 72 hours to reach the final bond strength.
  3. Mount the device into the fixed bracket.
  4. Tighten the security screw at the bottom of the bracket.
  5. All set! Press the doorbell button to test the installation.

9. Recharge the Video Doorbell

Please use the included 5V/2A Charging cable or a compatible 5V/2A charging charger (not included) to charge the video doorbell. A full charge takes about 8-12 hours.

Charging Indicators:

  • When the batteries are being charged, the red light next to the Charging port is on.
  • When the batteries are fully charged, the blue light next to the Charging port is on.

Tips:

  • The built-in battery is not fully charged and the device is powered off due to shipping safety regulations.
  • Please FULLY CHARGE the device before first use.

10. Troubleshooting

1. APP can't be registered successfully

  • Please check if the mobile phone's network is normal.
  • Please tick the software service agreement and privacy policy during registration.
  • Check if the verification code is in your spam mail folder.
  • Use Wi-Fi to register if the mobile network cannot be registered. If both mobile network and Wi-Fi prompts cannot obtain the server address, check if other software can be used normally.
  • During installation, allow the app to obtain your location and all permissions; the system will automatically arrange the best server.
  • If the above solutions are not effective, uninstall and reinstall the app, ensuring all permissions are allowed during installation.

2. Unable to connect to the network

2.1 Unable to connect to WiFi:

  • Please enable the DHCP of your router.
  • Ensure the camera is not blacklisted in the router's MAC settings.
  • Turn off the 5GHz WiFi band in the router (Note: Contact your router manufacturer if you cannot disable the 5GHz WiFi).
  • After connecting to the 24GHz WiFi, check if your mobile phone can access the Internet.
  • Make sure your mobile devices are connected to the same network as the camera.
  • If the network is normal, reset the camera and reconnect.

2.2 WiFi password reason:

  • Verify that the Wi-Fi password connected to the camera matches the Wi-Fi password of the connected router.
  • Check if the entered Wi-Fi password contains spaces or special characters like @, #, %, &.

2.3 Disconnected 5Ghz WiFi, unable to connect to WiFi:

  • Turn off the 5GHz network and keep only the 24GHz network active.
  • Disconnect the router and then restart the camera.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi name does not contain words like '5Ghz'.

3. No pop-up message for motion detection alarm

  • Enable permission settings in your mobile device's system settings to allow the ZUMIMALL App to receive message push notifications.
  • Some Android phones may have limitations in receiving alarm push information.
  • Ensure motion detection is turned on within the ZUMIMALL App.
  • SMS and email reminders are not supported at this time.

4. Motion detection messages prompt frequently

  • If motion detection sensitivity is too high, changes in lighting can also trigger alarms.
  • Reduce the sensitivity of alarms (a low level is recommended).

5. Cloud Storage and SD Card Storage?

  • You can choose to use a local SD card or cloud storage to save videos. This product does not include an SD card. If you need an SD card, please purchase one separately. It is required that the SD card supports 8-128GB capacity and FAT32 format. A standard Class 10 SD card is recommended.
  • You can also use cloud storage (free for 7 days), but a subscription fee is required. This is optional.

6. After inserting SD, it displays damaged

  • Before inserting the SD card, disconnect the power. Connect the power to start after plugging in the card.
  • The SD card must be formatted on the computer before using it with the device.

7. How to share the device?

This function can be achieved via "Device Share" in the app.

  1. Firstly, your family members need to install the app, sign up for a new account, and log in. From the APP, find the QR code of the new account.
  2. Open your device, log in to your ZUMIMALL account, go to the setting page, tap "Device Share", tap "Add", and then tap "Scan QR Code". Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code of the new account you want to share with.
