6. Add Camera to App
6.1 Preparations for Connection
- Insert a Micro SD Card (8-128GB, FAT32, Class 10 recommended) into the camera to save video clips, or utilize the 7-day free cloud service. Video recording is not possible without an SD card or cloud service.
- The doorbell is compatible only with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks; 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.
- When connecting to the network, position the doorbell close to the router (recommended within 10-15 feet).
6.2 Connect Camera to App
Follow these steps using the ZUMIMALL App:
- Tap 'Add Device' on the app's home screen.
- Select 'Smart Doorbell' from the device list.
- Turn on the doorbell unit as per instructions.
- Press the doorbell button and tap 'Next' to proceed.
- Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. Ensure the device does not work with 5G Wi-Fi networks.
- Prepare for scanning: Remove protective film from the lens. Tap 'Next' to display a QR code on your phone screen. Position your phone 5-8 inches from the doorbell's lens for scanning.
- Scan the QR code with the device when its indicator light is flashing slowly in red. A tone will confirm successful scanning.
- The app will then search for the device, register it to the cloud, and initialize it.
- The app will display 'Finished Installation When Reaches 100%'.
- Perform Network Diagnosis to check Wi-Fi signal strength and confirm the current location is suitable for installation.
- View installation tips, such as using an outdoor mounting bracket, recommended installation height (2-3 meters), and avoiding direct sunlight or close proximity to walls/glass for the lens.
7. Wireless Chime Connection
- Power on the wireless chime by removing the AAA battery protective film and inserting AAA batteries into the slots, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The chime uses AAA batteries, which are not rechargeable and can be replaced with standard market batteries if needed.
- Long press the Connection/Volume Button on the chime. The indicator light will flash blue, signifying that the chime is ready to link.
- Within 5 seconds after completing step 2, short press the button on the video doorbell to initiate the link. The chime will sound, confirming a successful connection. Ensure the doorbell is placed close to the chime during this process.
- Chime Settings:
- To adjust the chime's volume, short press the Connection/Volume Button.
- To change the ringtone, short press the Ringtone button.
Tips:
- You can link multiple chimes to a single video doorbell, and vice versa.
- A long press on the Connection/Volume button can prepare the chime for linking or disconnect it from the currently connected video doorbell.
8. Install the Video Doorbell
- Detach the mounting bracket from the video doorbell.
- Mount the bracket on the wall:
- Option 1: Mark screw holes and mount the bracket using the provided screws.
- Option 2: Use the provided sturdy adhesive stickers. Note that these stickers take approximately 1 hour to reach half of their maximum bond strength and 72 hours for full bond strength.
- Mount the doorbell unit into the fixed bracket.
- Tighten the security screw located at the bottom of the bracket.
- Press the doorbell button to test the installation.
9. Recharge the Video Doorbell
Use the included 5V/2A Charging cable or a separate 5V/2A charging adapter to charge the video doorbell. A full charge typically takes about 8-12 hours.
During charging, the indicator light next to the charging port will be red. When fully charged, the light will turn blue.
Tips:
- The built-in battery is not fully charged upon shipping due to safety regulations.
- Please fully charge the device before its first use.
10. Troubleshooting
1. APP Can't Be Registered Successfully
- Ensure the mobile phone's network connection is stable.
- Agree to the software service agreement and privacy policy.
- Check your spam folder for the verification code.
- Use Wi-Fi for registration if the mobile network is unreliable. If both mobile and Wi-Fi prompts fail to obtain a server address, check if other software functions normally.
- During installation, grant the app location and all necessary permissions for automatic server arrangement.
- If issues persist, uninstall and reinstall the app, ensuring all permissions are allowed during the installation process.
2. Unable to Connect to the Network
2.1 Unable to Connect to WiFi:
- Enable DHCP on your router.
- Verify the camera is not blacklisted in the router's MAC settings.
- Turn off the 5GHz Wi-Fi band on your router (contact the router manufacturer if unable to disable 5GHz).
- After connecting to 24GHz Wi-Fi, check if your mobile phone can access the internet.
- Ensure your mobile devices and the camera are connected to the same network router.
- If the network is normal, reset the camera and reconnect.
2.2 WiFi Password Reason:
- Confirm the Wi-Fi password entered for the camera matches the connected router's password.
- Check if the entered Wi-Fi password contains spaces or special characters (e.g., @, #, %, &).
2.3 Disconnected 5Ghz WiFi, Unable to Connect to WiFi:
- Turn off the 5GHz network and ensure only the 24GHz network is active.
- Disconnect and restart the router, then restart the camera.
- Ensure the Wi-Fi name does not contain the word '5Ghz'.
3. No Pop-up Message for Motion Detection Alarm
- Enable permission settings in your mobile device's system settings to allow the ZUMIMALL App to receive push notifications.
- Note that some Android phones may have limitations in receiving alarm push notifications.
- Ensure motion detection is enabled within the ZUMIMALL App.
- SMS and email reminders are not currently supported.
4. Motion Detection Messages Prompt Frequently
- High motion detection sensitivity or frequent light changes can trigger alarms.
- Reduce the sensitivity of alarms; a low level is recommended.
5. Cloud Storage and SD Card Storage?
- You can choose between local SD card storage or cloud storage for videos. This product does not include an SD card. If needed, purchase one separately. The SD card must support 8-128GB capacity and FAT32 format; a Class 10 SD card is recommended.
- Cloud storage is available for free for 7 days, after which a subscription fee is required. This service is optional.
6. After Inserting SD, It Displays Damaged
- Before inserting the SD card, disconnect the power. Reconnect power after inserting the card to start the device.
- The SD card must be formatted on a computer before use.
7. How to Share the Device?
This function is accessible via 'Device Share' in the app.
- Family members need to install the app, sign up for a new account, and log in. Find the QR code for the new account within the app.
- On your device, log in to your ZUMIMALL account, navigate to the settings page, tap 'Device Share', then tap 'Add', and finally tap 'Scan QR Code'. Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code of the new account you wish to share with.
