Safety Information

Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product! Keep it in hand for future reference. Warnings alert the user to potential serious outcomes, such as injury or adverse events to the user. Cautions alert the user to exercise care necessary for the safe and effective use of the product. Notes contain important information that may be overlooked or missed. This string light is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and it's for home and small office working. This appliance may be used by children aged 12 and over, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of sufficient experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been trained in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential dangers. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision. Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance. Keep the packaging material away from children, there is a risk of suffocation!

Warning

• Read and follow the instructions contained in this manual carefully. Keep these instructions at a safe place for future reference.
• IP44: Protected against solid objects of 1mm or higher. Protected against splashing water from all directions. Never immerse this String Light under water.
• The operating life of the product will be less if the ambient temperature is higher than 45°C or lower than -10°C.

Specifications

Main Installation

1. Remove contents from box: Remove all the contents from the box and switch OFF the MAIN Power.
2. Connect adapter: Connect the adapter to the String Light. Unscrew the cap, insert the pins of the String light to the base connector of the adapter. Make sure the polarity (+ and -) connections are on the correct side as shown. Then tighten the cap to make it waterproof.
3. Attach the string light: Attach the String Light to the desired location and use the included TY-Rips or Hooks on each of the bulbs to fix it firmly.
4. Turn on the device: Plug the power adapter into the electrical wall outlet, and switch ON the MAIN Power.

Important Safety Notes for Installation

Avoid danger to life by electric shock. Do not operate the unit with a damaged power line or damaged power plug. Attention! Damaged power lines represent danger to life by electric shock. Check the power lines regularly for damages and aging. If the power line is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, his / her representative or a similarly qualified person to avoid safety hazards. Protect the power line against sharp edges, mechanical strain and hot surfaces. Do not switch on the unit if you notice visible damages (e.g. tears or cracks) or if you assume that the unit is damaged (e.g, after having fallen down).

Reset device if needed

In case your Wi-Fi indicator light is not flashing rapidly, follow the steps below clearly:

1. Click on "HELP" or use the FAQ inside the App.
2. Follow steps 1 till 3 until the Wi-Fi LED light flashes:
   • Power ON the device, then power OFF after 10 sec, and then power ON again after 5 sec.
   • If the Wi-Fi light is not flashing as described above, please long press the device Wi-Fi LED push button for 5 - 10 seconds or longer until it flashes correctly.
   • Confirm the indicator light is now rapidly flashing, then press the "confirm indicator rapidly blinking" button in the App.

Notes: Once the smart String Light is fully set up, turning the string light switch off and on multiple times in a row may cause the string light to go back into reset mode. If that happens, please delete the string light from the app and re-add it normally as described.

Connect your smart string to the FlinQ app

Before plugging the unit into the mains, ensure by visual inspection that the unit is intact and has not suffered any damage during transit.

Notes: Please note that only 2.4 GHz networks are supported. 5 GHz networks will not work. Ask your provider how to turn on both frequencies.

The connection process involves the following steps:

1. Open the FlinQ app: Open the FlinQ app on your mobile device.
2. Add the device: Select 'Add Device' or the '+' sign and make sure the light on the adapter is flashing rapidly. If not, press and hold the button on the adapter for 5-10 sec.
3. Select product type: Select your product type via the light section tab. Please select the 'FlinQ Smart In- and Outdoor String Light Premium'.
4. Fill in the WiFi details: Now fill in the WiFi name and password to continue the installation.
5. Device is being added: The device is installed. This can take up to 2 minutes.
6. Device added successfully: The device is installed successfully and added to your list of products. You can now control your device remotely.
7. Google Home & Amazon Alexa: To control your device by using your voice via a smart speaker, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions manual on how to enable a voice command through your device.

General Notes and Warnings

• Never connect several Wi-Fi String lights in series!
• Make sure the Wi-Fi networks are 2.4Ghz only during setup.
• The Wi-Fi authorization method should be set as WPA2-PSK and Encryption type as AES or set both at AUTO.
• Wireless router cannot be set as 802.11N.
• If any problems, please reset the Wi-Fi string light and set them up again from scratch!
• For Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa; if these cannot be found, try to disable the home skill app (for Alexa).
• If you need to fully RESET the Smart string light follow the RESET instructions in the FAQ.
• Do not open the Smart String light yourself.
• This Smart string light is not a TOY, Keep away from children!
• Do not exceed the total power capacity from the smart string lights with the used appliances/devices!
• Do not use this Smart string light with extension cables.
• Do not use with appliances that could cause any fire in unattended use (like irons etc.).
• This Smart string light does not have any safety disconnection by Wi-Fi. Any other use as the intended way for this Smart string light is not validated for any warranty or liability.
• This smart string is only used for private use.

Install and attach second string light (not included)

1. Remove all the contents from the 2nd box and switch OFF the MAIN Power and Disconnect the Power Adapter from the wall outlet.
2. To connect the 2nd String Light to the main String Light: unscrew the cap, insert the 2nd String Light to the pins from the included Y connector of the second or main set, and then tighten the cap. Now you connect the main String Light connector pin to the Y connector also. Then connect the Y plug into the Power Adapter. See Main Installation point 2. Keep all remaining parts for future (spare) use.
3. Attach the 2 String Lights at the desired location.
4. Plug the power adapter into the electrical wall outlet and follow the points in the main installation section.

Security and Important Safety Instructions

• This IP44 product is suitable for outdoor and indoor use.
• Do not install near a gas, electric radiator, fireplace, candles, or other sources with a similar heat.
• Do not staple, nail, or hook the power cable.
• Never touch the plug contacts with sharp or metal objects.
• Do not hang the String Light only by the electric cables.
• An electric product is not a toy! To avoid the risk of fire, burns, injuries or electric shock, the String Light should not be left within the reach of children.
• Do not use the product outside its intended use.
• Do not hang ornaments or other objects on the String light cables.
• Do not close windows and doors on the power cord so as not to damage the insulation.
• Do not cover the product with a material (paper, cloth, etc.) that is not part of the product when in use.
• Read and follow all instructions that are indicated on the product or supplied with it.
• Keep this manual for future reference.

Instructions for Use and Maintenance

• When the product is installed in or to a tree, make sure that it is installed on stable and maintained branches.
• Before each (re)use, the product should be inspected with care. Discard all products whose power cable has cut, damaged or frayed; whose bulbs were cracked; whose connection boxes have been loosened; whose the copper wires are exposed.
• When disassembling, carefully remove the product from its location (trees, bushes, etc.) to avoid any pressure on the String Light that could damage the component elements.
• In case of non-use, store the product in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.

Disposal Information

Separate collection

This symbol ♻️ means the product must not be discarded with the general household waste. There is a separate collection system for these products.

WEEE Directive

This marking ⓌEEE shown on the product or its literature, indicates that it should not be disposed with other household wastes at the end of its working life. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please separate this from other types of wastes and recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. Household users should contact either the retailer where they purchased this product or their local government office for details of where and how they can take this item for environmentally safe recycling. Business users should contact their supplier and check the terms and conditions of the purchase contract. This product should not be mixed with other commercial wastes for disposal. Do not dispose of batteries in your household waste. Dispose of batteries by taking them to your local recycling store or station; contact your local government office for more details. If possible, please dispose of the batteries separately as stated by law and let it be recycled separately or give it to your local sales store/distributor/dealer that disposes of it correctly and free of charge at all times. Warranty

The warranty begins on the date of purchase and expires after 24 months. The warranty period is considered to have started three months after the date of manufacturing indicated on the product or as derived from the serial number of the product. If any defect due to faulty materials and/or workmanship occurs within the warranty period, we will make arrangements for service. Where a repair is not possible or is deemed uneconomical we may agree to replace the product. Replacement will be offered at our discretion and the warranty will continue from the date of original purchase. The warranty applies provided the product has been handled properly for its intended use and in accordance with the operating instructions. Certifications

• CE: This product is designed, produced and tested in accordance with the strictest European safety directive's and test standards.
• Protection Class II: Complies with the guidelines regarding protective insulation pursuant to IEC61140. The device is double insulated and does not require a grounding wire.
• Class III equipment: This is a class III device and can only be used with low voltage power, connection only to SELV power-circuits.
