10 second predictive quick read + 30 second final temperature read

FEVER OR FINE IN A FLASH

High temps are no joke. Is your munchkin just a bit flushed or is this a full-blown fever fest? You need answers RIGHT. NOW. And we're here in the trenches with you. That's where our 3-in-1 True Temp Thermometer comes in, with rectal, oral and armpit reading functions. It gives you both a 10-second quick read and a 30-second final read with a single insertion.

Taking a temp rectally is the only way to go with babies up to one year and is recommended by the AAP as the best method until age three. Middle of the night fever fears? No problem. The built-in LED light lets you see where you're going and what you're doing. (Important for rectal readings...) Worried about going too deep? The insertion stopper's got you covered. Can't remember what your little one's temp was an hour ago? Memory Mode to the rescue!

We've thought of it all so that you don't have to.

For Rectal Use

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends rectal temperature checks for babies up to one year, and it's the best method until age three. This thermometer defaults to Rectal ("rct") mode.

  1. Confirm the thermometer is in Rectal ("rct") mode. (See "Change Mode" section below.)
  2. Before inserting, lubricate the silver tip with a suggested lubricant like coconut oil or other natural options.
  3. Press the small bump on the thermometer probe to turn on the LED light for better visibility.
  4. Gently insert the thermometer tip up to the insertion stopper while lifting the baby's legs.
  5. Do not insert past the point where resistance is felt (typically from the baby's lower cheeks).

For Oral or Underarm Use

  1. Confirm the thermometer is in the correct mode: Oral ("orl") or Underarm ("udr"). (See "Change Mode" section below.)
  2. Press the white probe button on the side and flip the tip into oral/underarm mode.
  3. For Oral Use (recommended for ages four and up): Place the thermometer tip under the tongue.
  4. For Underarm Use: Place the thermometer probe with the tip in the armpit and keep the arm firmly pressed against the side.
  5. Note: To ensure an accurate temperature for underarm readings, always wait for the 30-second final reading, as the 10-second reading may not be reliable due to environmental factors like air temperature.

General Operation

  1. Press the Power Button to turn the thermometer on.
  2. The last temperature reading will appear on the LCD screen.
  3. The selected reading mode ("rct," "orl," "udr") will be displayed.
  4. "---" and the temperature unit (°F or °C) will show on the top right of the screen. (See "Change Unit" section below.)
  5. Ensure the mode and unit settings are correct before proceeding.
  6. Taking Temperature (10 or 30-Second Reading):
    • 10-Second Read (Quick Check): Insert the thermometer into the appropriate body part based on the mode setting. The screen will show a loading "wheel" [loading-indicator]. The thermometer will beep and flash a temperature reading after 10 seconds.
    • 30-Second Read (Final Temperature Check): Keep the thermometer inserted. The screen will continue to flash for another 20 seconds. Once 30 seconds have passed, the reading is complete. The thermometer will beep and display the final temperature reading.
  7. Wait at least one minute before attempting a new measurement.
  8. Press the Power Button to turn the thermometer off. This can be done at any point during a reading.
  9. Remember to sanitize the thermometer before and after all readings, especially if switching between rectal and oral use.

Change Unit (°F / °C)

To change from Fahrenheit (°F) to Celsius (°C): Turn the thermometer on. When the last temperature reading flashes, hold the button for 3 seconds. Press the button once to scroll to the next unit. Once the preferred unit is displayed, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to confirm selection.

Change Mode (Rectal, Oral, Underarm)

The thermometer defaults to rectal ("rct") mode. To change the mode:

  1. Turn the thermometer on and wait for the screen to light up.
  2. Hold the button for 3 seconds when the current mode ("rct," "orl," "udr") flashes.
  3. Press the button once to scroll to the next mode.
  4. Once the preferred mode is displayed, wait 3 seconds for the thermometer to register the selected mode, OR press the button for 3 seconds to confirm selection and proceed with the reading.

Available modes: "rct" - Rectal, "orl" - Oral, "udr" - Underarm.

For the most accurate results, always use the thermometer in the mode that corresponds with the method you are using.

Memory Mode

To enter Memory Mode: Press and hold the button for 3 seconds when the device is off. Once in memory mode, press the button once to scroll through the saved readings. Press and hold the button for three seconds to exit memory mode.

Normal Body Temperature / Fever Indicator

Body temperature can vary from 97°F to 100.0°F and still be considered normal. The medically accepted 'normal' body temperature is 98.6°F. Body temperature is commonly lower upon waking than at any other point during an individual's waking hours.

Temperature readings will vary based on the body location point of the reading:

A fever is defined as a body temperature that is elevated above the normal for that person. It is important to determine what is normal for an individual before determining if a fever is present. Tracking an individual's temperature consistently, at the same body site and at the same time every day when the person is well, will help determine their normal temperature.
