Franke Box and Mythos Masterpiece Collection Installation Guide
This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for the Franke Box and Mythos Masterpiece Collection of stainless steel sinks. The manual is available in multiple languages, including English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.
Installation Overview
The installation process involves preparing the countertop, fitting the sink, and connecting plumbing. Franke offers different installation types: Inset, Flushmount, and Undermount.
Required Tools and Preparation
Before starting, gather the necessary tools:
- [tape measure]
- [pencil]
- [ruler]
- [jigsaw]
- [screws]
- [sealant gun]
- [drill]
General Preparation:
A ? (information) icon indicates important notes. Specific cutouts require precise measurements and radii. For inset installations, an offset of 10mm and a 45° angle are noted. For flushmount installations, dimensions like A, B, C, D, r1, and r2 are critical, with a 90mm radius often specified.
Installation Types
Inset Installation (Type A)
This method involves cutting a hole in the countertop and placing the sink into it from above. The process includes:
- Preparing the countertop cutout according to specified dimensions (e.g., A, B, r1).
- Applying a sealant bead (indicated by a red line) around the edge of the cutout.
- Carefully lowering the sink into the prepared opening.
- Ensuring the sink is properly seated and sealed against the countertop.
Flushmount Installation (Type A)
Similar to inset, but the sink is designed to sit flush with the countertop surface. This requires precise cutout dimensions (A, B, C, D, r1, r2) to achieve a seamless finish.
Undermount Installation (Type C)
This installation method places the sink underneath the countertop, creating a clean, uninterrupted surface. The steps typically involve:
- Preparing the countertop cutout with dimensions E, F, and r3.
- Applying sealant to the rim of the sink.
- Positioning the sink from below the countertop.
- Securing the sink using mounting clips and M6 screws, as shown in detailed cross-sections.
Sink Fitting and Plumbing (Type B)
This section covers the attachment of essential plumbing components to the sink:
- Attaching the waste and overflow fittings to the sink.
- Connecting the necessary pipes and ensuring secure connections, often involving tightening with rotational force [arrow indicating rotation].
- Lowering the sink, now equipped with fittings, into the countertop cutout.
The diagram shows the sink with overflow and waste pipe connections, ready for installation.
General Usage and Care
The manual provides guidance on proper sink maintenance:
- ✔️ [gloves]: Wear gloves when handling the sink or cleaning.
- ✔️ [faucet]: Ensure the faucet is correctly installed and functional.
- ✔️ [cleaning bottle]: Use appropriate cleaning agents.
