Installation Guide and Specifications
Product Overview
This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for the Franke MARIS MRX series of stainless steel kitchen sinks. The MARIS MRX sinks are designed for various countertop installations, including Slimtop, Flushmount, and Undermount.
Installation Types
Slimtop Installation
This method involves cutting a countertop opening and placing the sink on top of the countertop surface. The edges of the sink are visible above the countertop.
Preparation:
- Measure and mark the countertop according to the specific model's dimensions (A, B, r1). A template may be used.
- Ensure the cut-out has the correct radius (r1) at the corners.
Installation Steps:
- Apply a continuous bead of sealant around the underside edge of the sink or the countertop cut-out to create a watertight seal. [sealant gun emoji]
- Carefully place the sink into the prepared opening, ensuring it sits flush and is correctly positioned.
- Secure the sink from underneath using the provided fixing clips or brackets.
- Connect the waste and overflow fittings.
Flushmount Installation
This installation type integrates the sink so its rim is level with the countertop surface, creating a seamless look.
Preparation:
- Measure and mark the countertop according to the specific model's dimensions (A, B, C, D, r1, r2, 1.1).
- Cut the countertop opening with the specified internal dimensions and corner radii.
Installation Steps:
- Apply sealant to the underside edge of the sink or the countertop cut-out. [sealant gun emoji]
- Position the sink into the opening, ensuring it sits perfectly flush with the countertop surface.
- Secure the sink from below using the appropriate fixing mechanisms.
- Install the drain and overflow components.
Undermount Installation
This method installs the sink beneath the countertop, offering a clean, unobstructed countertop surface.
Preparation:
- Measure and mark the countertop for the undermount cut-out based on model dimensions (E, F, r3).
- Cut the opening in the countertop.
Installation Steps:
