Hilti HCW-S 37x45 M12 Installation Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Base Material

Ensure the base material is suitable for anchoring. The hole diameter required is 37 mm. The minimum embedment depth (h₁) must be 80 mm.

Step 2: Clean the Drill Hole

Use Hilti cleaning tools (e.g., SIW 6, SIW 8) to thoroughly clean the drilled hole. Ensure no dust or debris remains.

Step 3: Insert the Anchor

Insert the Hilti anchor into the prepared hole. Ensure it is seated correctly.

Step 4: Install the Fastener

4a. For SW HCW: Use SIW 6, SIW 8, or SF 10W with an 8 mm diameter. Attach the HCW-S component.

4b. For HSW: Use HSW M12x220/60 8.8 or M12x140 4.6. Ensure the embedment depth (t₁) is between 40 mm and 40 mm (t₁ ≤ 40 mm).

4c. For HAS-U M12: Use HAS-U M12 with a 1x M12 nut. Ensure the embedment depth (t₂) is between 40 mm and 40 mm (t₂ ≤ 40 mm).

4d. For HST2 V3 / HST3 / HST4 M12: Use HST2 V3 / HST3 / HST4 M12 with 1x M12 nut. Ensure the embedment depth (t₂) is between 40 mm and 40 mm (t₂ ≤ 40 mm).

Step 5: Tighten the Fastener

Using the appropriate tool (e.g., Hilti SIW 6, SIW 8, SF 10W, or HSW M12x220/60 8.8), tighten the fastener securely. The required torque or tightening procedure should be followed as per Hilti specifications.

Step 6: Positioning and Load Application

Ensure correct positioning of HCW-L and HCW-S components. Observe safety warnings regarding load application and potential hazards [warning-triangle].

Step 7: Final Check

Verify the installation is secure. Check that the anchor is properly seated and tightened. The distance 'a' should be checked for correct placement.
