2. Important Notice

Thank you for choosing the Ecler DN44BOB Digital Audio Interface Dante™/AES67. For optimal performance, it is crucial to read and follow the instructions in this manual before connecting the device.

For optimal functioning, maintenance should only be performed by authorized technical service partners. Ecler products come with a warranty; details can be found at www.ecler.com or on the warranty card included with the device.

3. Introduction

The DN44BOB is a digital audio interface over IP, based on the Dante™/AES67 protocol, with the following main features:

Programming of the DN44BOB is done via the EclerNet Manager application. For more information, refer to the EclerNet Manager application manual. The EclerNet Manager application is available for download at www.ecler.com.

Sending and receiving configuration of Dante™/AES67 channels is done via the Audinate® Dante Controller application. For more information, refer to the EclerNet Manager application manual.

4. Installation

4.1. Connection to Power and Device Power-On

The audio interface is powered by an external AC adapter: 100-240 VAC and 50-60 Hz. The device's power supply must be properly grounded (grounding resistance RG = 30Ω or less). The operating environment must be dry and dust-free. The device must not be exposed to water or splashes. Do not place containers with liquids or open flames, such as candles, on the device.

If any intervention or power on/off is necessary, disconnect the device from the power supply first. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device.

To avoid unwanted hum, ensure the power cable does not come into contact with the shielded audio cables carrying the signal.

4.2. Audio Input Connections

The DN44BOB has 4 analog signal inputs "IN" on its rear panel. These are symmetrical and accept Line and Mic signals. The selection of input signal type and its control is done via the EclerNet Manager application. For more information, refer to the EclerNet Manager application manual.

The signal input sockets are screw-type terminal blocks with three contacts. The connections are assigned as follows:

For unbalanced connections, the pin with ground should be shorted.

4.3. Audio Output Connections

The DN44BOB has 4 analog signal outputs "OUT" on its rear panel. These are symmetrical and accept Line signals.

The signal output sockets are screw-type terminal blocks with three contacts. The connections are assigned as follows:

For unbalanced connections, do not connect the -Pinout.

4.4. ETHERNET/DANTE™/AES67 Port for Programming and Control

An RJ45 connector allows connection of the device to an Ethernet network:

4.4.1 Factory Preset Network Parameters

The factory default network settings for compatible devices with EclerNet Manager are:

5. GPI Ports for Remote Control

The DN44BOB has 4 GPI inputs on its rear panel, controlled by 0-10 VDC. Each input can be connected to an external device (potentiometer, contact closure, variable 0-10VDC, etc.) and assigned a function on the DN44BOB, for example:

The GPI connections are Euroblock type. The connections are assigned as follows:

Connection cables can be up to approximately 500 meters long if a cross-section of at least 0.5 mm² is used.

Consult your ECLER dealer or www.ecler.com for wall-mounted devices for remote control from the WPa series.

6. Front Panel LED Indicators

The DN44BOB has the following front panel elements:

7. Setup, Mounting, Ventilation

The DN44BOB is designed for installation in 19" racks, occupying one and a half rack units in height and half a rack unit in width. It includes the PUM3 adapter, allowing the mounting of two half-width rack devices in a standard 19-inch rack unit, or one half-width rack device in a standard 1U rack space.

As the DN44BOB generates heat, it is important that it is not installed in a completely enclosed space and is not exposed to extreme temperatures.

If the installation involves multiple devices in the same rack or a cabinet with closed doors, it is highly recommended to install forced ventilation, i.e., fans at the bottom and top. This upward airflow facilitates the dissipation of heat generated within the rack or cabinet.

8. Cleaning

The front panel should not be cleaned with solvents or abrasive products, as this could damage the printed symbols. To clean the device, use a cloth dampened with water and a neutral liquid cleaner; then, dry the device with a clean cloth. Under no circumstances should water enter the device through any of its openings.
