DANTE™/AES67 channel transmission and reception configuration is done via the Audinate® Dante Controller application. Refer to the EclerNet Manager application manual for more information.
Installation
5.1. Power Connection and Power-On
The audio interface is powered by an external AC power source: 100-240 V and 50-60Hz.
The power source must be connected to a quality earth ground (earth resistance Rearth = 30 Ω or less). The working environment should be dry and free of dust. Do not expose the unit to rain or splashes. Do not place objects containing liquid or open flames, such as candles, on the unit.
If any intervention or connection/disconnection of the unit is necessary, the power must be turned off first. No internal components are user-serviceable.
To avoid hum, do not let the power cord run alongside shielded cables carrying audio signals.
5.2. Analog Audio Input Connections
The DN44BOB features 4 rear-panel balanced analog inputs (7) that accept line or microphone level signals. Input signal type selection and management are done via the EclerNet Manager application. Refer to the EclerNet Manager application manual for details.
Input signal connectors are 3-contact screw terminals. Connection assignment is as follows:
- Hot point or direct signal: Terminal +
- Cold point or inverted signal: Terminal -
- Ground: Terminal ⏚
For unbalanced connections, connect the ground to the '-' terminal.
5.3. Analog Audio Output Connections
The DN44BOB has 4 rear-panel balanced analog outputs (6) that produce a line-level signal.
Output signal connectors are 3-contact screw terminals. Connection assignment is as follows:
- Hot point or direct signal: Terminal +
- Cold point or inverted signal: Terminal -
- Ground: Terminal ⏚
For unbalanced connections, do not connect the '-' terminal.
The diagram illustrates balanced and unbalanced connections.
5.4. ETHERNET/DANTE™/AES67 Port for Programming and Control
An RJ45 connector (11) allows the unit to connect to an Ethernet network:
- Management via the EclerNet Manager application. Refer to the EclerNet Manager manual for more information.
- Possibility of direct (point-to-point) connection from a computer to a DN44BOB unit.
- Transmission of 4 DANTE™/AES67 channels and reception of 4 DANTE™/AES67 channels.
- Connection to WPNETTOUCH units (remote control of an entire network of EclerNet devices using customized graphical panels or UCPs, including third-party devices, Android®, iOS®, etc.).
5.4.1 Factory Default Network Settings
The factory default network settings for devices compatible with the EclerNet manager are:
- IP: 192.168.0.100
- Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gate: 192.168.0.1
- UDP Port: 2210
5.5. GPI Remote Control Ports
The DN44BOB offers 4 rear-panel GPI inputs for DC voltage control, 0-10 V. Each of these inputs can be connected to an external physical device (potentiometer, contact closure, 0-10 V voltage variation, etc.) and associated with a DN44BOB function, such as:
- Remote volume control of an input or output channel using a physical potentiometer or an Ecler WPa series WPaVOL-IR remote control. For muting, use a contact closure instead of a potentiometer.
- Recall a preset using a five-position selector, such as the WPaVOL-SR.
GPI connectors are Euroblock type. Connection pinout is as follows:
- Positive, DC +10 V: Terminal +
- Variable voltage, DC 0-10 V: Terminal -
- Ground: Terminal ⏚
Connection diagrams for WPaVOL and WPaVOL-SR to DN44BOB GPI ports are provided.
Connection cables can reach a length of approximately 500 meters using a minimum section of 0.5 mm².
Consult your ECLER distributor or www.ecler.com for information on WPa series wall remotes.
5.6. GPO Remote Control Ports
The DN44BOB features 4 rear-panel relay outputs (8) NO/NF (normally open/normally closed). The open or closed state of each relay can be stored in a DN44BOB preset, so loading a preset restores the state (open/closed) in which the GPOs were when the preset was saved. This allows interaction with external equipment such as projection screen motors, movable partitions, lighting, sirens, GPI inputs of other equipment, etc.
Front Panel LED Indicators
The DN44BOB has the following front panel indicators:
- POWER LED (5): Illuminates when the unit is in service.
- DANTE LED (4):
- Red LED: Ethernet network disconnected.
- Green LED: Ethernet network connected, and the device is functioning as master (clock for DANTE™/AES67 transmission on the network).
- Orange LED: Ethernet network connected, and the device is functioning as slave (synchronized to the clock of the master DANTE™/AES67 unit on the network).
- DATA LED (3): Off: no connection with EclerNet Manager but connected to Ethernet. On: connected to EclerNet Manager. Blinking: exchanging data with EclerNet Manager or others.
- Analog Audio Output LEDs (2): Indicate the presence of an audio signal at the unit's outputs and its intensity level (indicated by green, orange, and red colors, corresponding to increasing intensity levels).
- Analog Audio Input LEDs (1): Indicate the presence of an audio signal at the unit's inputs and its intensity level (indicated by green, orange, and red colors, corresponding to increasing intensity levels).
7. Placement, Mounting, Ventilation
The DN44BOB is designed for 19" rack mounting, occupying one unit in height and half a unit in width. It includes the PUM3 adapter, which allows mounting two half-width rack peripherals in a standard 19" rack unit space.
As the DN44BOB generates heat, it is important not to completely enclose it or expose it to extreme temperatures.
If the installation includes multiple heat-generating devices in the same rack or in cabinets with doors, it is highly recommended to equip these with forced ascending ventilation by installing fans at the top and bottom. This ascending ventilation flow will promote the dissipation of heat produced inside.
8. Cleaning
The casing should not be cleaned with solvents or abrasive substances, as this may damage the screen printing. For cleaning, use a cloth dampened with water and a neutral liquid detergent, then wipe with a clean cloth. In no case should water penetrate the unit through any of its openings.
9. Diagrams and Function List
