Component Labels
All horizontal posts, headboard posts, and footboard posts are labeled with numbers to ensure proper assembly. These labels are located at the ends of the horizontal posts and next to the receiving bracket of the headboard and footboard posts. The numbers on the horizontal posts correspond with the numbers on the headboard and footboard posts.

Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Attach Headboard Posts to Headboard
To connect each headboard post to the headboard, insert the pre-attached rail fastener into the footboard fitting and press down firmly to lock it in place.

Step 2: Attach Side Rails to Headboard
To connect each side rail to the headboard, insert the pre-attached rail fastener into the headboard fitting and press down firmly to lock it in place.

Step 3: Attach Footboard Posts to Side Rails
To connect each footboard post to each side rail, insert the pre-attached rail fastener into the footboard fitting and press down firmly to lock it in place.

Step 4: Attach Footboard to Footboard Posts
To connect each footboard post to the footboard, insert the pre-attached rail fastener into the footboard fitting and press down firmly to lock it in place.

Step 5: Connect Horizontal Posts
To connect the horizontal posts to the headboard and footboard posts, slot the attached brackets into the receiving brackets. Be sure to match the numbers on the ends of the horizontal posts to the corresponding numbers on the headboard and footboard posts, which are located near the receiving brackets.

Step 6: Secure L Brackets
Attach the L brackets to the horizontal posts with the screws provided. Use the pre-drilled holes to guide placement of the brackets.

Step 7: Attach Center Support Legs
Screw the center support legs into the center support rail, with the metal T-nuts facing upward.

Step 8: Install Center Support Rail
Place the center support rail inside the bed frame. Adjust the glides on the center support legs as needed, ensuring the legs stand straight and are flush to the floor.

Step 9: Place Slats
Place the slats inside the bed frame. Note that the slat pocket is designed to be slightly wider than the slat for ease of assembly.

Bed Configurations
The Thompson canopy bed is available in different configurations:
- Queen & King: Requires 14 slats.
- California King: Requires 15 slats.

Assembly Checklist
Review the checklist below to ensure your Thompson canopy bed is properly assembled.
- Ensure all slats are present.
- Ensure all slats are lying flat.
- Ensure all hardware is firmly secured. Do not loosen or move hardware.
- Ensure center support legs are level.
- Ensure all 4 L bracket are securely installed on the horizontal posts.
- Should you need to move this piece for any reason—including installing a rug beneath it—disassemble it first, then reassemble in the desired position.
