3.3 Troubleshooting (FAQ)

ProblemTroubleshooting Suggestions
Power indicator does not light up.

  • Ensure the USB Type-C cable is properly connected to the monitor and computer.
The power LED is amber, but nothing is displayed on the screen.
  • Check if the PC and monitor are powered on.
  • Ensure the USB Type-C cable is properly connected to the portable USB monitor and your PC.
  • Check for bent pins in the signal cable.
  • Connect the PC to another monitor to determine if the PC is functioning correctly.
The displayed image is too bright or too dark.
  • Adjust the brightness settings using the button.
The image flickers or waves are visible.
  • Ensure the USB Type-C cable is properly connected to the portable USB monitor and your PC.
  • Remove any electrical devices that may cause interference from the vicinity of the monitor.
  • Check for bent pins on the USB Type-C cable.
The image has color errors (white is not displayed as white).
  • Check if the contacts on the USB Type-C cable are bent.
After connecting to the USB Type-C input device, the power LEDs blink continuously or repeatedly show the ASUS logo.
  • Insufficient power supply from USB Type-C input devices. Please follow the steps below:
  • Press the Blue Light Filter button, then connect the USB Type-C cable. This process activates the built-in safe mode. Release the Blue Light Filter button after the ASUS logo appears. The message "Safe Mode" will appear after the ASUS logo disappears. Once "Safe Mode" disappears, set the background color to white or a near-white image (*1).
  • Press the MENU button to display the main menu. A small red "S" appears in the top left corner, indicating safe mode. Access the brightness setting and press the up arrow key to adjust. Note the brightness value "Y" during the process until the MB16AC/MB16ACR/MB16ACM/MB16ACE restarts. (*2) Example: If the brightness value shows "70" and the MB16AC/MB16ACR/MB16ACM/MB16ACE restarts at "71", then "70" is the "Y" value you need to note. This is the highest brightness value for the connected USB-C input device.
  • Press the MENU button to display the main menu. The safe mode is still indicated by "S" in the top left corner. Adjust the brightness value to "Y".
  • Close the screen menu and hold the Blue Light Filter shortcut button for 5 seconds to turn off safe mode.
  • Done.

*1: White background color consumes more energy. Therefore, use the white background color to test the performance limit of the USB Type-C input device.

*2: If the MB16AC/MB16ACR/MB16ACM/MB16ACE does not restart when set to 100, it means the USB Type-C input device is not supplied with sufficient power.
