Worktop Preparation
Step 1: Cutting the Worktop
It is important to saw the worktop straight. If you are uncertain, contact your local specialized dealer.
Step 2: Applying Edgeband
If the worktop needs to be cut, use contact adhesive to fix the edgeband to the cut end. Ensure the edgeband is applied smoothly and without creases. Trim any excess edgeband with scissors.
Step 3: Securing Edgeband
After applying the edgeband, use a roller or a smooth object to ensure it is firmly adhered to the worktop. Trim any excess material.
Installing the Worktop
Step 1: Positioning the Worktop
Place the worktop onto the base cabinets. Ensure it is correctly aligned.
Step 2: Drilling Pilot Holes
Drill pilot holes through the worktop into the cabinets. The diagram indicates drilling at 10 mm (3/8") from the edge. Use a drill bit of Ø 3 mm (1/8").
Step 3: Securing the Worktop
Use screws (part number 108530) and washers (part number 109563) to secure the worktop to the cabinets. Ensure screws are tightened appropriately, but do not overtighten.
Step 4: Connecting Multiple Worktops (if applicable)
If joining multiple worktops, align them carefully. Use the provided connectors and screws to join them securely. Ensure a flush fit.
Integration with Appliances
Step 1: Installing Sink or Cooktop Cutouts
Follow specific instructions for cutting out spaces for sinks or cooktops. Ensure precise measurements are taken.
Step 2: Sealing Cut Edges
Apply silicone sealant to the cut edges of the worktop, especially around sink and cooktop openings, to prevent moisture ingress. Ensure the silicone is applied evenly and smoothed out.
Step 3: Installing Diffusion Barrier
Fit a diffusion barrier on the underside of the worktop above white goods (like dishwashers or ovens) to provide extra protection against condensation and moisture.
