About the UGREEN DXP2800
The UGREEN DXP2800 is a network-attached storage (NAS) device designed for home and personal users. It functions as an intelligent data management center, allowing users to store and access data via smartphones, laptops, tablets, and TVs from anywhere with network access.
Instructions Before Use
- For efficient data transmission, use a router or switch with Gigabit LAN ports or higher and connect the NAS with the included CAT7 (or higher) Ethernet cable.
- New hard drives are recommended. The NAS system will format any installed drive, erasing all existing data. Back up important data before installation.
- Only use the original or a safety-certified power adapter that meets the device's power specifications.
- Do not insert or remove hard drives while the NAS device is on. Turn off the device using the app first to prevent file loss, data corruption, or drive damage.
- Only update firmware with a stable power supply. Do NOT disconnect power during updates.
- Unbinding the device will remove all data, which cannot be retrieved. Ensure data is backed up before unbinding.

Web Client—Binding & Settings
Step 1: Add Device
- Ensure the NAS device and computer are on the same local area network (LAN), then visit the URL: find.ugnas.com.
- The system will automatically search for devices in your current LAN.
- Select the device you want to add and click "Connect".
Step 2: Initialize the Device
- After adding the device, you will enter the initialization settings interface.
- In this interface, complete the following operations:
- Name the device: Name your device for easy identification and management.
- Create a local administrator account: Register a local administrator account to manage the device.
- Register and bind UGREEN Cloud account (optional): If you want to use additional functions such as UGREENlink and Quick Login, you can register and bind a UGREEN Cloud account. Otherwise, you can skip this step and use only the local account to log in.
- After completing the above operations, check the "update system" option (required) and the "device analysis improvement plan" option (not required), then you can start using the device.
Note: If the device does not undergo the initialization process, its status will be displayed as "Not Initialized".
Step 3: Set up Storage Mode
Enter the "UGREEN NAS" > "Storage Manager" to set up storage mode and configure storage space.
Phones/Tablets & Other Devices—Binding & Settings
1. Application Download
Option 1: Scan the QR code on the device or below using your phone to install the "UGREEN NAS" app. (QR code symbol: ▣)
Option 2: Go to UGREEN's official website (https://nas.ugreen.com/download) to download and install the corresponding application.
2. Binding & Settings
The steps for binding and settings are identical to the Web Client instructions (Step 1: Add Device, Step 2: Initialize the Device, Step 3: Set up Storage Mode). Please refer to the "Web Client—Binding & Settings" section for detailed instructions.
RAID Modes
RAID Type | Description | Number of Drives |
---|---|---|
JBOD | Requires at least 2 drives. Available capacity equals the total capacity of all member hard drives. No data redundancy is provided. If any drive fails, all data cannot be restored. | 2 |
Basic | Requires only 1 drive. Available capacity equals the capacity of the hard drive. No data redundancy is provided. If the hard drive fails, all data cannot be restored. | 1 |
RAID 0 | Requires at least 2 drives. Available capacity equals the total capacity of all member hard drives. Data are divided into blocks and split across multiple drives; theoretical read/write speed is n times that of a single drive. If any drive fails, all data cannot be restored. | 2 |
RAID 1 | Requires at least 2 drives. Data are mirrored on all drives. The volume of the smallest member drive determines the total capacity of the storage pool. If any drive fails, it can be replaced and the lost data will be recovered. | 2 |
Tip:
- In JBOD storage mode, failure of a single hard drive results in storage failure for all drives.
- The capacity of a new hard drive used to replace a failed drive in RAID 1 storage configuration must be larger than the capacity of the smallest drive.
- If the number of failed hard drives exceeds the allowed number for the selected mode, all data in the corresponding storage pool will be lost and cannot be restored.
Notice! If the system prompts you to format the hard drive when configuring storage space, back up all important data in advance. After formatting, all data in the storage space will be removed and cannot be restored.
Device Sharing
Option 1 (Invited user and NAS are on the same network):
The administrator logs in to "UGREEN NAS" > enters "Control Panel" > "User Management" > "Add" to create a new user account, provides the account and password to the invited user. The invited user logs in to "UGREEN NAS", searches for the device via the LAN, then enters the account password to activate and bind the device.
Option 2 (Invited user and NAS are not on the same network):
Firstly, the administrator enables the UGREENlink online service, then logs in to "UGREEN NAS", enters "Control Panel" > "User Management" > "Invite" to enable invitation settings, and copies the invitation link to invited users. When invited users open the link, they enter account information, then apply to access the device.
Note: UGREENlink online service is an external network access service provided by "UGREEN NAS", allowing access to the app without complicated network settings.
Reset Network & Password
When the NAS device is turned on, use a pin-like object to insert and hold the "RESET" hole for 5 seconds until you hear the buzzer beeping. The device will not restart during the reset process. After the reset is complete, the solid white network indicators will turn on, indicating the device is ready for use.
The reset will not affect data stored in the hard drive. After successful resetting, you can log in to the system with the "admin" account and blank password (this account is specifically utilized for password resets). Once logged in, follow the step-by-step wizard to configure your administrator password.
