UGREEN NASync DXP2800 User Manual
About the DXP2800
The UGREEN DXP2800 is a network-attached storage device designed for home and personal users. It functions as an intelligent data management center, allowing users to store and access data via smartphones, laptops, tablets, and TVs from any location with network access.
Instructions Before Use
- For efficient data transmission, it is recommended to use a router or switch with Gigabit LAN ports or higher and connect the NAS using the included Ethernet cable (CAT7 or higher).
- It is recommended to use new hard drives. The NAS system will format any installed drive, erasing all existing data. Ensure important data is backed up before installation.
- Use only the original power adapter or a safety-certified adapter that meets the device's power specifications.
- Do not insert or remove hard drives while the NAS device is powered on. If necessary, power off the device via the app first to prevent potential file loss, data corruption, or drive damage.
- Update firmware only with a stable power supply. Do NOT disconnect power during the update process.
- After unbinding the device, all data will be removed and cannot be retrieved. Ensure data is backed up appropriately before unbinding.

Drive Installation
Unlocking Hard Drive Tray
Use the key to unlock the hard drive tray. Press the buckle to pop the handle out, then pull the tray out.
Installing 3.5-inch Hard Drives
- Flip the tray to the back, press the buckle with the "Press" icon to pull the clamp arm.
- Place the hard drive on the tray, aligning the four fastening pins on the tray with the screw holes on the hard drive.
- Push back the clamp arm to secure the hard drive. Insert the loaded drive tray into the empty drive bay and push the handle to fasten it in place.
Installing 2.5-inch Hard Drives
- Remove the fastening pin as shown. (Note: Removed fastening pins can be attached in fixed holes near the tray covering for potential use with 3.5-inch hard drives.)
- Place the drive on the tray, aligning the holes on the bottom of the drive with the holes on the tray.
- Turn the tray upside down and tighten the screws to secure the drive. Insert the loaded drive tray into the empty drive bay and push the handle to fasten it in place.
Installing M.2 SSDs (Optional)
What does installing an M.2 SSD do?
M.2 SSDs can be used as a normal storage drive or as a read/write cache to improve reading and writing performance of random data.
- After powering off, pull the tray out to reveal the M.2 slot on the inner left side of the device. Pull back to release the buckle.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot, aligning the notch with the corresponding ridge in the slot.
- Gently press the lifted end and fasten the buckle after the SSD is firmly inserted.
- Reinstall the tray and power on the NAS. After successful boot-up, use the "UGREEN NAS" app to set the SSD cache.
Warning: To avoid data loss, remove the SSD cache in the "UGREEN NAS" before removing any M.2 SSD. This provides added protection if the system is using it for caching.
Powering On
Connect the NAS device to a LAN port on a router using an Ethernet cable. Connect the power adapter to the device, then short-press the power button to turn it on.
Tip: After powering on, download the "UGREEN NAS" app and navigate to "Control Panel" > "Hardware & Power" to select automatic startup.
Warning: To avoid potential fires, explosions, or other electrical hazards, do NOT use non-UGREEN power adapters or uncertified power adapters.

RAID Modes
RAID Type | Description | Number of Drives |
JBOD | Requires at least 2 drives. Available capacity equals total capacity of all member hard drives. No data redundancy. If any drive fails, all data is lost. | 2 |
Basic | Requires only 1 drive. Available capacity equals the drive's capacity. No data redundancy. If the drive fails, all data is lost. | 1 |
RAID 0 | Requires at least 2 drives. Available capacity equals total capacity of all member hard drives. Data is split across drives for increased read/write speed. If any drive fails, all data is lost. | 2 |
RAID 1 | Requires at least 2 drives. Data is mirrored across all drives. Total capacity is determined by the smallest member drive. If a drive fails, it can be replaced, and lost data recovered. | 2 |
Tip: In JBOD mode, a single drive failure results in storage failure for all drives. For RAID 1, the replacement drive's capacity must be larger than the smallest drive in the configuration. If the number of failed drives exceeds the limit for the selected mode, all data in the storage pool will be lost.
Notice! If the system prompts to format a hard drive during storage configuration, back up important data first, as formatting erases all data.
Device Sharing
Option 1 (Invited user and NAS on the same network): The administrator logs into "UGREEN NAS", goes to "Control Panel" > "User Management" > "Add" to create a new user account, and provides the account and password to the invited user. The invited user logs into "UGREEN NAS", searches for the device via LAN, enters the account password to activate and bind the device.
Option 2 (Invited user and NAS not on the same network): The administrator enables the UGREENlink online service, logs into "UGREEN NAS", goes to "Control Panel" > "User Management" > "Invite" to enable invitation settings, and copies the invitation link to the invited users. Invited users open the link, enter account information, and apply to access the device.
Note: UGREENlink online service is an external network access service provided by "UGREEN NAS", allowing app access without complex network settings.
Reset Network & Password
When the NAS device is on, use a pin-like object to press and hold the "RESET" hole for 5 seconds until you hear a beep. The device will not restart during the reset process. After reset, solid white network indicators will turn on, indicating the device is ready.
The reset operation does not affect stored data. After a successful reset, log in using the "admin" account with a blank password (this account is for password resets only). Follow the wizard to configure your administrator password.
