Important Safety Instructions
This owner's guide is part of the product and contains vital information on safety, use, and disposal. Familiarize yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Keep these documents for future reference and pass them on with the product.
Intended Use
This product is designed to heat and circulate air in indoor living spaces only. It is not intended for commercial or industrial use, nor for bathrooms, laundry areas, or damp locations. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage or injury due to unauthorized use or product modification. Failure to follow these directions voids the warranty.
General Warnings
When using electrical appliances, always follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury:
Risk to Children and Impaired Persons
Extreme caution is required during installation, operation, cleaning, and maintenance by or around children 12 years of age and younger, or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance, its parts, or packaging.
Installation Warnings
- Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored, as the heater has hot and sparking parts.
- Do not use in an RV, boat, or any application where battery power is converted to AC power.
- Place the product at least 3 feet away from electrical outlets, furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains, and other flammable objects. Keep away from beds, as objects like pillows or blankets can fall off and ignite.
- Operate only in the upright position.
- Do not place the heater on soft surfaces (like a bed) where air intakes or exhaust can be blocked.
- Keep the product away from furnaces, fireplaces, stoves, or other high-temperature heat sources. Do not use in a window, on uneven surfaces, or near water.
- Ensure the appliance, power supply, cord, and plug do not contact water. Do not use on wet surfaces, in a bathtub, shower, or where it might fall into water containers (bathtub, laundry, pool).
- Do not use this product outdoors or expose it to weather or elements.
- Do not run the cord under carpeting, cover it with rugs, or route it under furniture or appliances. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping. Ensure the cord does not hang over edges or get crimped. Place the appliance near an easily accessible outlet for quick unplugging in emergencies.
- Do not modify the product with any aftermarket accessory.
Safe Use Warnings
- Use the heater only as described in this manual. Unauthorized use may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Exercise extreme caution when the heater is in operation. Always unplug when not in use. Vornado does not recommend unattended or unsupervised use.
- The heater surfaces are hot during use. Avoid bare skin contact with hot surfaces. Use handles when moving the heater.
- Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or power strip. Do not use on surge-protected or GFCI outlets.
- Verify that the electrical information on the rating label (including voltage) is compatible with your power supply before plugging in.
- To reduce the risk of circuit overload, fire, and electric shock, do not operate with solid-state speed devices (like dimmer switches) or on the same circuit as other high-energy products (vacuum cleaners, blenders, fans, saws). Do not use with an automatic timer, as it may disable the thermal cutout safety feature.
- Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, or if it has malfunctioned, been dropped, or damaged. Discard the heater or return it to a Vornado authorized service facility for examination/repair.
- Do not sit or stand on the product.
- Never use the cord as a handle or yank, strain, or stretch it.
- Do not insert foreign objects into ventilation or exhaust openings, as this can cause electric shock, fire, or damage.
- Check heater cord and plug connections. A loose outlet can cause overheating or fire. Ensure the plug fits tightly. Check frequently for heat; if hot, discontinue use and have the outlet replaced by a qualified electrician.
- Never ignore signs of electrical problems (warm outlet plates, sparks, flickering lights). Immediately turn off and unplug the appliance. Contact a qualified electrician to investigate before operating again.
- Note: Heaters draw more current than small appliances; overheating may occur even if it hasn't with other appliances.
- The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) for reduced electrical shock risk. It fits a polarized outlet one way. If it doesn't fit fully, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this feature.
- Before moving, servicing, cleaning, or when not in use, turn off the power and unplug the unit. Grasp and pull only the plug to disconnect. Power off and unplug if leaving unattended or during electrical storms.
- If the heater suddenly stops working:
- The heater has a thermal cutout safety feature that shuts it off when overheating is detected. Refer to the "RESET HEATER" instructions.
- If the heater and other electrical products stop working simultaneously, your circuit breaker or fuse may have tripped due to overload. Consider using the "low" setting, running only one heater at a time, unplugging other appliances, or hiring an electrician to install an additional circuit.
Servicing Warnings
- Clean the product regularly as instructed. Turn off and unplug before cleaning. Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, ammonia, or other chemicals for cleaning. Refer to CLEANING instructions.
- Do not open the appliance housing while plugged in. For safety, all service and repairs must be done by a Vornado Authorized Service Center.

- Remove any obstructions.
- Wait 5-10 minutes for the heater to cool down.
- Plug in the power cord and place the heater in the desired position.
