WARNING: Risk to Children and Impaired Persons
Supervision is required during installation, operation, cleaning, and maintenance by children 12 years of age and younger, or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance, its parts, or packaging material.
INSTALLATION WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons:
- Place this product away from curtains, draperies, tablecloths, and other fabrics that could be drawn into the product, potentially damaging the motor or causing a fire.
- Do not place any part of this product (appliance, power cord, plug, packaging) near furnaces, fireplaces, stoves, or other high-temperature heat sources.
- Do not use this product in a window, on an uneven or unstable surface, or near water.
- The appliance, power supply, power cord, and plug must not come into contact with water. Do not use on wet surfaces.
- Do not use in a bathtub or shower, or position where it may fall into a bathtub, laundry area, swimming pool, or other water container.
- Do not use outdoors or expose to weather or elements.
- Do not run the cord under carpeting, throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route the cord under furniture or appliances.
- Arrange the cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping.
- Ensure the cord does not hang over edges of counters or get pinched in doors.
- Place the appliance near an easily accessible outlet for quick unplugging in an emergency.
SAFE USE WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons:
- Do not operate with a solid-state speed device, such as a dimmer control switch, to reduce the likelihood of circuit overload, fire, or electric shock.
- Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard the fan or return it for examination/repair.
- Do not operate if the unit has been dropped or damaged.
- Do not use if the power cord or plug is damaged. To avoid electrical shock, do not attempt to repair or replace parts yourself. Use only original replacement parts.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazard. Contact Vornado Consumer Service at 1-800-234-0604 or consumerservice@vornado.com for replacement and repair instructions.
- Before plugging in, ensure all electrical information on the rating label (including voltage) is compatible with your outlet's power supply.
- Do not sit or stand on the product.
- Never use the cord as a handle or yank, strain, or stretch the power cord.
- While plugged in, do not insert foreign objects into any input or output opening, as this may cause electric shock, fire, or product damage.
- A loose fit between the wall outlet and plug can cause overheating and plug distortion. Discontinue use in that outlet and contact a qualified electrician to replace worn outlets.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce electric shock risk, the plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit fully, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to bypass this safety feature.
- Before moving, repositioning, servicing, or cleaning, turn off the power using the product controls and unplug the unit.
- To disconnect, grasp and pull only the plug, not the cord.
- Power off and unplug if the product will be left unattended for extended periods or during electrical storms.
SERVICING WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons:
- Clean your product regularly as instructed in this manual.
- Prior to cleaning, turn off the power and unplug the product.
- Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, ammonia, or other chemicals for cleaning. Refer to the CLEANING instructions.
- Do not open the appliance housing while the product is plugged in. All service and/or repairs must be done by a Vornado Authorized Service Center to avoid shock risk.
- This product has overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit. If the fuse blows, unplug the product. Replace the fuse according to user servicing instructions (check product marking for fuse rating). If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present; discard the product or return it to an authorized service facility.
User Servicing Instructions (Fuse Replacement)
- Using the product controls, turn off the appliance.
- Grasp the plug (not the cord) and disconnect from the outlet.
- Risk of Fire: Replace fuse only with a 2.5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse approved by Vornado Consumer Service. Contact Vornado Consumer Service for an authorized replacement fuse.
- Once the replacement is received, use a small flat-head screwdriver to slide open the fuse cover (located on the plug) (See description of Figure A).
- Remove the fuse by using the screwdriver to gently lift each end of the fuse (See description of Figure B).
- Install the replacement fuse by using the screwdriver to gently push each metal end into the receptacle one at a time. Do not push on the center of the fuse, as it is fragile and may break.
- Slide the fuse cover closed using the screwdriver. Ensure the cover fits completely in the plug, with no part sticking out (See description of Figure C).
- Plug your appliance into the outlet and turn the power on.
- If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present. Discard the product or return it to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.

Cleaning
Grille Removal [Screwdriver Required]
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury to persons, unplug the circulator before removing the grille.
- Remove the screw located between the ribs of the Shroud at the 6 o'clock position. Rotate the Grille counterclockwise and pull directly out to remove.
- Dust or wash Grille with mild dishwashing soap. Do not place the Grille in the dishwasher, as excessive heat can distort the plastic.
- To reattach: Align the screw boss on the bottom backside of the Grille slightly to the right of the screw boss on the Shroud.
- Ensure notches on top of the Grille are aligned with indents on the Shroud.
- Rotate the Grille clockwise until it "clicks" into place.
- Replace the screw.
[Tip]: Use the brush attachment on your household vacuum cleaner to vacuum any accumulated dust off the Grille and Shroud.
Blade Removal
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury to persons, unplug the circulator before removing the blade.
- Unscrew the blade cap by holding the blade in place with one hand while turning the blade cap clockwise. Pull the blade straight out from the shaft.
- Wipe the blade with a damp cloth. If your circulator is used in a greasy environment (e.g., kitchen), mild soap or a common household cleaner may be necessary. Do not use solvents. Do not place the blade in the dishwasher, as excessive heat can distort the plastic.
- To reattach: Ensure the flat side of the shaft aligns directly with the corresponding flat side on the blade's socket. Push the blade all the way onto the shaft until it bottoms out and the threads on the shaft are completely through the blade socket. Do not use a hammer, as this could result in bearing damage.
- Reinstall the blade cap and ensure it has been firmly tightened.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause and Solution |
---|---|
The unit fails to power on. |
|
Airflow is weak or slow. |
|
Fan Body will not stay in desired position. | Tighten the knob located on the Fan Body until the Fan stays in the desired position. |
GFCI has tripped. | Under certain conditions, a reset GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet may trip when changing speeds on a Vornado circulator. In this event, change to an outlet not connected to a GFCI device. It could also indicate a weak or defective GFCI outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to check the GFCI outlet. |
