Warning
This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended. Failure to adhere to these codes and instructions may result in serious injury and/or property damage and will void the warranty.
Cleaning
Always be certain that electric current is turned off before cleaning. Only a soft damp cloth should be used. Harsh cleaning products may damage the finish.
Installation Instructions
- Remove four (4) countersunk screws [E] from the bottom of plate [B]. Retain these screws. Carefully remove frame [C] from base [A].
- Carefully slip the base onto the post. Using the base as a template, mark the positions for the three (3) mounting screw holes on the post. Note: Ensure that the fixture is facing the desired direction for final installation.
- Remove the base from the post.
- Drill 3/16" (4.76mm) holes in the post at the positions that were marked in Step 2.
- Grounding instructions: (See diagrams a or b). If the fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires. Diagram 'a' illustrates connecting the outlet box ground wire to the fixture ground wire using a wire connector. Diagram 'b' shows the grounding connection using a green ground screw and a cupped washer for the fixture ground.
- Make wire connections. Reference the chart below for correct connections and wire accordingly.
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Neutral Wire Black White *Parallel cord (round & smooth) *Parallel cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor *Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used, the neutral wire is square shaped or ridged and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth (See illustration).
- Carefully slip the base onto the post and secure using three (3) mounting screws [D]. The screws should slip into the holes drilled in the post.
- Take the glass panels [I] with the three (3) EVA pad side pointing up. Carefully raise each glass panel up through the bottom of the frame [C]. Insert the top edge of the glass between the frame [C] and the tab [H] (Fig. 1). Tilt the glass against the frame until it is vertical, and seat the glass on the inside of the frame. Repeat for the remaining glass panels.
- Carefully raise the glass retainers [G] up through the bottom of the frame. Position them next to the bottom corners of the glass (Fig. 2). Insert the countersunk glass retainer screws [F] (from the parts bag) into the holes in the bottom corners of the frame, and thread them into the bottom of the glass retainers. Tighten to secure the glass in place. Note: The glass should be positioned between the frame and the glass retainers.
- Insert recommended bulb(s) (not included).
- Carefully lower the frame [C] (with glass installed) down over the bulb and socket [J] onto the plate [B], aligning the holes in the bottom of the frame with the holes in the plate.
- While holding the frame in place, attach the frame to the plate using the four (4) countersunk screws [E] that were removed in Step #1. Tighten the screws to secure the frame to the plate.
