Speaker Controls and Ports
The iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker features the following controls and ports:
- Microphone: For hands-free calls.
- Power/Pairing Button: To turn the device on/off and initiate Bluetooth pairing. (Depicted as a power symbol)
- Hands-free Calling Answer/End Button: To answer or end calls. (Depicted as a phone icon)
- Volume Controls: (+) and (-) buttons to adjust volume.
- 3.5mm Audio In Port: For wired audio connection.
- Main Power Switch: Located on the back, to turn the device on/off.
- Mini USB Charging Input: For charging the device.
Compatibility
Wireless Compatibility:
Devices with Bluetooth 2.0 or above, including iPad, iPhone (2nd Gen and newer with iPhone software 3.1), iPod touch (2nd Gen and newer with iPhone software 3.1), Bluetooth-equipped Macs, and most Bluetooth-equipped smartphones or computers.
Wired Compatibility:
Devices with a standard 3.5 mm headphone output port, such as iPod, via a 3.5 mm minijack cable (cable not included).
Warnings
⚠️ 1. Do not become distracted by this product while driving.
⚠️ 2. Do not leave the product exposed to a heat source or high temperatures.
⚠️ 3. Do not remove or attempt to remove the non-user-replaceable battery. When disposing of the product, take it to a waste electronics service.
⚠️ 4. Please remember that a loose object in a moving vehicle could become a deadly projectile in the event of a collision.
LED Indicator
The LED light on the front of the speaker indicates the following:
- LED Off: Power OFF
- BLUE: Power ON
- Flashing BLUE/RED: Pairing mode
- RED: Low Battery Level
- Flashing RED: Battery almost drained
- Flashing BLUE: Battery is recharging
Set-up and Pairing via Bluetooth
The iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker can pair with most Bluetooth 2.0 devices. Pairing may vary by device; consult your Bluetooth device's owner's manual for specific instructions.
Putting Speaker Into Pairing Mode:
- Turn the main power switch on the back of the speaker to the “ON” position.
- Press and hold down the [power symbol] button on the right side of the speaker until the light on the front starts blinking red and blue. This indicates it is in pairing mode.
Note: The speaker stays in pairing mode for 3 minutes. If pairing is not completed, turn the main power switch OFF and then back ON, and repeat step 2.
Pairing with iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch:
When paired, the speaker can be used for music playback. With iPhone, it also functions as a speakerphone for calls. For online chat clients like Skype, it can also be used as a speakerphone.
- Put the speaker into pairing mode.
- On your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > Bluetooth. Ensure Bluetooth is ON.
- Look for “iClarityHD” among the detected devices and touch it.
- A pop-up window will appear asking to pair. Select "Pair".
Pairing with Bluetooth Equipped Mac:
The speaker can be paired with a Bluetooth 2.0 equipped Mac for music or as a speakerphone for iChat, Skype, and other online chat clients.
Note: Not all Macs support Bluetooth. If your Mac does not support Bluetooth, connect using a 3.5 mm minijack cable (not included) and refer to the "Connecting to a Device Via 3.5 mm “AUDIO IN” Input" section.
- Put the speaker into pairing mode.
- On your Mac, go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Bluetooth.
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned ON.
- Click Add (+) to launch the Bluetooth Setup Assistant. Click "Continue."
- Select "Headset" and click "Continue."
- "iClarityHD" should appear. Highlight it and click "Continue."
- After information is gathered, click "Continue." If prompted for a passkey, enter "0000" and click "Continue." The speaker will now be paired. Click "Quit".
Note: For Bluetooth equipped Windows PCs, consult your owner's manual for pairing instructions.
Setting your Mac's Audio Input and Output:
To enable audio transmission from your Mac and microphone input to your Mac, set your Mac's audio input and output to “Bluetooth.”
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences > Sound.
- In the "Output" Tab, select “iClarityHD Precision Bluetooth Headphones” for stereo audio playback (music, movies).
- For speakerphone use with Skype, iChat, or other chat applications, select “iClarityHD Precision Bluetooth Headset.”
- In the "Input" Tab, select “iClarityHD Precision Bluetooth Headset” for online chat.
Note: Selecting "Bluetooth Headset" may prevent stereo playback. Ensure "Bluetooth Headphones" is selected for best audio.
Note: Some audio delay may occur with video playback when connected via Bluetooth. For optimal performance with video, use a 3.5 mm minijack cable.
Reconnection in Event of Bluetooth Disconnection
If your device and the speaker disconnect (e.g., out of range, powered off), they can be re-connected by:
- Short pressing the power/pairing button on the speaker.
- Selecting "iClarityHD" from your device for reconnection.
Note: The speaker will also "auto-connect" with compatible devices that auto-search and re-connect with their last connected device.
Taking Calls on an iPhone Connected to iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker
When an incoming call is received, an alert will sound. Music playback will automatically pause.
- To accept a call: Use your iPhone controls or press the [phone icon] on the side of the speaker. Speak normally; your voice will be picked up by the built-in mic.
- To end a call: Use your iPhone controls or press the [phone icon].
- To reject a call: Use your iPhone controls or press and hold the [phone icon].
- To use call waiting: Use your iPhone controls or press and release the [phone icon] twice in succession to put the first call on hold and answer the incoming call. Repeat to switch back.
Controlling Playback When Connected Via Bluetooth
Note: Due to Bluetooth profiles, volume may not be controllable from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Volume must be controlled using the speaker's volume controls. Control may vary by device.
- VOLUME: Use the (+) button to increase volume and the (-) button to decrease volume on the speaker.
- PAUSE MUSIC: Push the [play symbol] button to pause playback. Repeat to resume music.
Connecting to a Device Via 3.5 mm “AUDIO IN” Input
Use the speaker for music playback with any device that has a 3.5 mm headphone port. A 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm minijack cable (not included) is required.
Simply plug one end of the cable into your device and the other end into the 3.5 mm port marked “AUDIO IN” on the back of the speaker. Then, play music.
Note: Volume cannot be controlled by the speaker when connected via the 3.5 mm “AUDIO IN” input. Use the volume control on your device.
Recharging Battery
Ensure the power switch is set to “ON.” Plug the Mini USB end of the included USB cable into the USB mini port marked “USB Charging” on the back of the speaker. Plug the other end into a USB port on your computer or other USB charging device.
The LED light will begin to flash BLUE and will stop flashing when fully charged. Charge time is approximately 3 hours from an empty battery.
Note: Always switch the speaker to the “OFF” position when not in use to conserve battery charge.
Trouble Shooting
Sound is very low or no sound:
- Check the Volume Level on both the iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker and your Bluetooth device.
- If using the 3.5 mm port, ensure the minijack cable is securely inserted into the speaker and your device.
Sound not in stereo when playing music:
- Ensure the Sound Output on your Mac is set to “iClarityHD Bluetooth Headphones.” Refer to the "Setting your Mac's Audio Input and Output" section.
Music is playing on a device but isn't transferring to iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker:
- Verify your Bluetooth device supports A2DP (check your device's owner's manual).
- Ensure the device is paired with the speaker.
- If using the 3.5 mm port, ensure the minijack cable is securely inserted into the speaker and your device.
LED light not on:
- Make sure the iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker main switch is ON.
- Ensure the iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker is charged.
Hands-free calling is not working with iPhone or mobile phone:
- Verify your mobile device supports HSP/HFP.
- Ensure your iPhone or mobile phone is paired with the speaker.
- Check the volume on the iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker.
Music is not resuming after hanging up a call:
- Press the [play symbol] button to resume music.
Limited Warranty for Consumers
Monster, LLC., 7251 West Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89128, USA, (415) 840-2000 ("Monster") extends this Limited Warranty. Statutory or common law may provide additional rights or remedies, which shall not be affected by this Limited Warranty.
Definitions:
- "Adequate Use": Use of the Product within a home or dwelling, for private purposes, in conformance with applicable laws, and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- "Authorized Dealer": A distributor or reseller duly authorized by Monster.
- "Product": The specific product purchased new from an Authorized Dealer.
- "Product Defect": An inadequacy existing at the time of receipt that causes failure to perform as documented, unless caused by misuse, alteration, accident, or external factors.
- "Warranty Period": The time during which Monster must receive a Formal Warranty Claim. Commences on the date of purchase or receipt, evidenced by proof of purchase. If no proof, commences three months after product left Monster's factory.
- "You": The first individual person who purchased the Product new from an Authorized Dealer.
Scope of Limited Warranty:
If a Product contained a Product Defect at the time of purchase and Monster receives a Formal Warranty Claim within two months of discovery and before the end of the Warranty Period, Monster will repair or replace the Product, or refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not feasible.
Note: MONSTER DOES NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INDIRECT DAMAGES UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
General Provisions:
- Choice of Law/Jurisdiction: Governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with California courts.
- Other Rights: This warranty grants specific legal rights that may vary by jurisdiction. It is non-transferable.
- Registration: Product registration at www.monstercable.com/register is recommended but does not affect warranty rights.

How to Make a Claim:
- Call Monster within two (2) months of discovering a Product Defect.
- Provide a detailed explanation of how the damage occurred.
- Obtain a Return Authorization Number.
- Complete the claim form sent by Monster.
- Return the Products, shipping prepaid (refunded if eligible), with proof of purchase, completed claim form, and Return Authorization Number on the package.
