About Your iTouchless® Trash Can
Congratulations on your new automatic step trash can, designed for convenience and hygiene at home or the office. A simple tap on the pedal sensor automatically opens the lid, which then closes silently and gently when you're done. It's a no-effort, fully automatic step trash can.

Power Options
Battery Power
Requires 4 "D" Size batteries (not included). The diagram shows inserting batteries into the compartment.
AC Power
An AC adapter is sold separately. The diagram shows plugging the adapter into the trash can and then into a wall outlet.
Important: Do not operate the lid with batteries and AC Adapter at the same time. It can only be powered by one source at a time. ?
Operating the TapCan Sensor
Simply tap the pedal. The lid opens automatically. The diagram shows four steps: 1. Tap the pedal. 2. Lid opens. 3. Lid stays open for 5 seconds (indicated by a timer icon). 4. Lid closes.
AbsorbX® Odor Filter
AbsorbX® odor filters utilize all-natural activated carbon technology to absorb and neutralize trash odors, leaving your kitchen smelling fresh and clean. They also trap illness-causing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), making the air healthier.
Key Points:
- Replace AbsorbX® Odor Filter every 3 months or when odor becomes too strong.
- Used AbsorbX® Odor Filter should be disposed of in a trash can.

Trash Bag Retention
The Trash Bag Retainer Ring ensures the trash bag stays securely in place. The diagram shows steps for placing the bag and securing it with the ring.
Attention & Safety
Important Safety Information:
- This item is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the item.
- Clean the trash can body only with products safe for use on stainless steel.
- Do not press or force the lid to close; it will close automatically after releasing the pedal.
- Ensure there is enough room to operate the trash can without blocking the opening and closing of the lid.
- Do not overstuff the trash bag, as it may cause tearing or difficulty removing.
Operation Reminder: Just tap on the pedal... the lid opens automatically!
Care & Maintenance
Maintain at least 10 inches (approx. 25 cm) between the sensor and the wall. Keep the sensor out of direct sunshine.
To clean the sensor area: Turn off power, unplug the adapter, and remove batteries. Clean the sensor area with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. ?
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| 1. The lid is opening slowly | The battery power is low. Replace with 4 new D size alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries or mix old/new batteries. |
| 2. The lid will not close completely | Ensure the Trash Bag Retainer Ring is properly placed, pushed down firmly, and not sticking up. |
| 3. The lid does not open/close | If using Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly, close the battery cover firmly, turn the power switch to "1" (on), and check if the LED blue light flashes. If using AC Power Adapter: Unplug the adapter and insert new alkaline batteries to see if the lid works on battery power. If it works with batteries, the AC adapter may be broken. |
| 4. I tap the pedal, but the lid does not open | Batteries may need replacement. Replace with 4 new D size alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries or a mix of old batteries. |
| 5. I tap the pedal twice, but the lid does not keep open | Ensure the LED is flashing green. The pedal should be tapped twice within 1 second. Tap the pedal twice quicker. |
General Note: Do not use batteries and the AC power adapter simultaneously. It can only be powered by one source at a time. ?

The AutoStep® Trash Can is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 365 days from the original purchase date with proof of purchase. This warranty applies to purchases made through authorized dealers.
Warranty Exclusions:
- User modification
- Attachments causing damage
- Tampered serial numbers or seals
- Damage from abuse, misuse, accident, water, or theft
iTouchless makes no express or implied warranties beyond this limited warranty, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Liability is limited to product replacement. The Can Body, AbsorbX® Odor Filter, Retainer Ring, and Filter Compartment are not covered by this warranty.
