FRESHWATER INSTALLATION
Connecting Minn Kota Trolling Motors with Humminbird Electronics
This guide outlines the installation for a system featuring a Minn Kota trolling motor with i-Pilot Link and built-in MEGA Imaging. The system includes a bow-mounted Humminbird unit, console-mounted Humminbird units, MEGA 360 Imaging – Ultrex, a Minn Kota Shallow Water Anchor, a heading sensor GPS puck, and a high-speed transducer with a y-cable.

BOW UNIT
- 11: MEGA 360 Imaging – Ultrex
- 4: Minn Kota Ultrex Trolling Motor with i-Pilot Link and built-in MEGA Imaging
- 2: GPS + Heading Sensor (AS GPS HS or AS GPS NMEA for SOLIX)
- 9: MEGA 360 and MDI/2D Y-Cable
- 10: Adapter Cable for MEGA 360 Y-Cable (AD HELIX M360)
Connections: The Trolling Motor (4) is powered by Trolling Motor Batteries. The MEGA 360 Imaging (11) connects to the Trolling Motor (4) via the Y-Cable (9) and Adapter Cable (10). The GPS + Heading Sensor (2) connects to the Trolling Motor (4). A [Network Graph] symbol indicates a network connection point.
CONSOLE UNIT
- 1: Humminbird Unit(s) (e.g., HELIX or APEX/SOLIX series)
- 5: 5-Port Ethernet Switch (AS ETH 5PXG)
- 6: Transducer Splitter Cable
- 7: High Speed Transducer (fiberglass or aluminum hull versions)
- 3: Additional Humminbird Unit/Accessory
- 8: Minn Kota Talon/Raptor with Bluetooth (Talon SWA)
- Cranking Battery (separate power source)
Connections: The primary Humminbird Unit (1) connects to the 5-Port Ethernet Switch (5). The Ethernet Switch (5) serves as a central hub for network connectivity. The Transducer Splitter Cable (6) connects the High Speed Transducer (7) to the network, often via the console unit or switch. The Minn Kota Talon/Raptor (8) connects wirelessly via Bluetooth.
