Bulb Compatibility

This Dimmer Keypad is compatible with the following bulb types:

  • Incandescent & Halogen [?]
  • Dimmable CFL [?]
  • Dimmable LED [?]

Note: Non-dimmable CFL and LED bulbs are not compatible and should not be used.

Installation Guide

  1. Step 1: Power Off and Remove Old Switch

    Turn off power at the service panel and remove the existing wall switch.

  2. Step 2: Prepare Wires

    Unfold all of the wires from within the junction box. Separate the black wires and cap them with wire nuts.

    Unfold wires from junction box. Separate black wires and cap with [wire-nut]s.

  3. Step 3: Identify Line Wire

    Turn on power and use a voltage detector to identify the live wire; this is your line wire.

    [power-on]. Use [voltage-detector] to identify the live wire (line wire).

  4. Step 4: Connect Keypad Wires

    Turn off power and connect the corresponding wires from the junction box with the Insteon Keypad and cap them with wire nuts.

  5. Step 5: Install Keypad and Plate

    Install the Insteon Keypad, attach the wall plate and turn on power.

  6. Step 6: Add to Insteon App

    Follow the on-screen instructions in the Insteon app to add Dimmer Keypad.
